Default Get Lamp: The Text Adventure Documentary

http://www.getlamp.com/

A documentary on the history and culture of text adventure games, from the guy who made the (apparently nicely done) BBS documentary is apparently starting production early next year.

From Grand Text Auto:
Quote:
The page for Get Lamp: The Text Adventure Documentary, by BBS Documentary creator and cantankerous Grand Text Auto commenter Jason Scott of textfiles.com, is now live. Production is planned for 2006.
(Since my title for this post is ten times more obscure than my usual obscure jokes, I’ll mention that the text adventure Mystery Mansion, originally programmed in the 1970s for the HP-1000, would tell you that you had successfully taken some item by saying “YOUR BOOTY NOW CONTAINS THE [ITEM],” as you can see depicted in lovely computer graphics on the premier Mystery Mansion page.)
Thought you all might be interested.

Wow, thanks for the heads up. Any idea whether it's gonna get cinema release or rather will go straight to cable?

I think it will in fact go straight to DVD, with maybe some cable release on specialty channels? I don't think the BBS one went to theaters. Maybe it will play at conventions/expos? I don't know.

Oh, I was hoping "text adventure documentary" meant a documentary in the form of a text adventure.
