I would recommend you games like Scratches, Dark Fall, Darkness Within or Barrow Hill, but these are myst-like. But try them one day, especially when you looking for ambient (piano) music and mysterious story.

So if you want traditional point n click, try Lost Crown, GK2, Mission Critical (well, its classic sci-fi, but just perfect and unforgettable experience) or Sanitarium.

Black Mirror is very dark and disturbing, one of the most I've played. Only third person ones I can think of which match up are Sanitarium and Phantasmagoria. You might be interested in Nibiru, which uses the same engine as Black Mirror and was developed by the same company - though it's not as dark.

You might like Overclocked although in some ways it isn't traditional adventure game, as the inventory usage is minimal, and it feels like an interactive movie at times.

But it has a wonderful dark atmosphere and chilling storyline.

You should definitely give 'Still Life' a go. Dark and serious atmosphere and the music and sound effects really add to the experience.
One of the best stories that can be found in an adventure game, at least if you ask me.

Other good choices would be these:

Overclocked: A history of violence
Post Mortem (Prequel to Still Life, but not as good imho)
Alter Ego
Sinking Island
Syberia 1 & 2
