Hi gickul,
I seem to recall "a computer geek in a floating chair" in The Longest Journey. I think the game was more fantasy worlds than sci-fi, but that could just be my take on it, and anyway, it was a long time ago that I played it.

it turned out to be exactly the longest journey
But i don't know why the hell i thought the longest journey was different and the game i had in mind was graphically like space quest , that's a bummer
