searching for name of OLD adventure game
I am trying to find an old adventure game I once played. I think it was in the 80-90's. You could raise your skill level in areas like sword etc by hitting on a tree at the beginning. It was, again I think, adventure rpg. If anyone can help me with the name I would be grateful.
If this is not the right forum for this just let me know please. RLarge |

I haven't played this game, so I could be horribly wrong, but it sounds a little like Quest for Glory, to me. My apologies if that isn't the answer you're looking for.

Hero's quest
The quest for Glory game was also called Hero's quest. That is what it sounds like to me too.

Well the hitting the tree part sounds like King's Quest VIII: Mask of Eternity, but it was more a matter of solving a puzzle than leveling up. I actually am not sure if there was leveling in it... And it barely fits your margin of 80's-90's, being made in 98.
Still, a suggestion is a suggestion |

Faery Tale Adventure, perhaps? I'm fairly certain that was late eighties and sounds reasonably similar.

The Adventures of Maddog Williams perhaps? I can't remember if you had those kind of skills in this game...

I'd bet anything it's Quest for Glory, aka: Hero's Quest.

My bet is Hero's Quest. Maddog did have swordfighting, but I don't recall a level-up system.
