games to play 2011!
Ok, so following the last thread about games to play 2010, I thought we could do one about the games we want to play 2011 (thanks Harald) and check it back at the end of the year.
So here's my list for now: Black Mirror 3 Gray Matter Tales of Monkey Island (never got around playing it yet) Lure of the temptress (got to finish this game sometime ) Alternativa 15 days (At least gonna try it) Mata Hari |

Edna & Harvey and Book of Unwritten Tales
And whomever can come up with some Myst-like game Basicaly, i'll play any game that has solid, well thought, balanced and creative puzzles. The thing that genre lacks most lately are - puzzles. |

Darkstar - currently playing and loving it. Great to see a different kind of adventure game return: FMV, 1st-person, Sci-Fi, strong story with lots of exploring and problemsolving but no dialogues that go on forever.
Gray Matter - I will definitely finish it, even if the story doesn't grab me (yet). Bracken Tor and The Last Crown - really looking forward these two! Sam&Max Season 3 - already installed, but not on my priority list. Edna and Harvey: The Breakout - played it in German in 2008, am very interested to see how the English version turned out. The German games Harvey's neue Augen and Deponia - Daedalic still rules, in spite of the bugs in their A New Beginning, which will hopefully be fixed in the English release. The DS games Hotel Dusk and Time Hollow - were on my to-play list for 2010. Also on my list are the oldies Nightlong, Heart of China, and Deathgate. Maybe Back to the Future as well, don't know yet. |

The Lost Horizon - done, excellent game 4/5
Sanitarium - currently in progress but only at night => it's super effective! Broken Sword series - playing the first on iPhone Gabriel Knight Series Grim Fandango any Monkey Island game I haven't played (anything but MI1 & 2) Blade Runner Secret Files series Scratches Back to the Future Indiana Jones & The Fate of the Atlantis - time to replay this one (usually I don't replay AGs) Blackwell series Runaway That's the list of only AGs for 2011 I want to play, for now... So far, my list is:
Broken Sword 2, 3 and maybe 4, Art of Murder 1-3, Syberia 1 & 2, Still Life, Gray Matter, Alternativa (If I get it), Secret of Monkey Island & LeChuck's Revenge, Tales of Monkey Island, Sam & Max Season 1. Most likely some others, too.

Hehe, thanks Isak, I was too lazy to start a new thread.
Here's my to-play-list for 2011: The Bizarre Adventures of Woodruff and the Schnibble (just started) Dark Fall: The Journal (just started) Syberia 2 The Manhole Gabriel Knight 2 Dreamfall Police Quest 2 (more or less just started) Those above are games I already own. What I plan to buy and play this year: Gray Matter (pre-ordered and still waiting to play ) Back to the Future 3 Cards to Deadtime Darkstar Myst IV (from last year's list and yes, I still intend to play through all five Myst games ) Tex Murphy: Overseer Blackwell: Deception Edna and Harvey The Book of Unwritten Tales A New Beginning (Portal 2) That's a huge list. I really doubt I'll be able to pull this off. Especially considering how poorly I did with last year's list. |

As always, I still have quite a long list of games to play (I'm always a sucker for sales at the Adventure Shop and Steam! ) I can never stick to my resolution to finish games I've put on hold, and others keep jumping the queue. At least I managed to play half the games on my 2010 list...
Still to finish: Zelenhgorm (ran into technical problems right near the end, otherwise I would've finished last week ) Evidence: The Last Ritual Post Mortem So Blonde Jazz & Faust Simon the Sorcerer 4 Top games to play in 2011 : RHEM 3 & 4 Still Life Sinking Island Culpa Innata The Whispered World Dracula 3: Path of the Dragon Professor Layton and the Unwound Future Hoping to get: Back to the Future Edna & Harvey Black Mirror II Nancy Drew 22 & 23

For me it's the entirety of the Monkey Island series... Unfortunately, its priority consistently falls below newer & shinier (ie. console) games.

I promised to play 15 days this year, so I gave it a go last night.
That was the first and last time I played it. The locations were dead boring, no life, no interaction, no animations. And whats up with the story? You just get dragged into it, almost no info on who you are and what you are doing and why you are doing it. It felt, with one word: unfinished. |

I will definitely pick up Black Mirror III because i really want to see what happens next in that story! I also got the free pre-order of BTTF chapter 1 so i'll play that in Feb when it's available. I'll probably give the Lost Crown sequel a go because although i never finished the first game (reinstalled windows half way through playing it and never reinstalled the game) i did enjoy what i played of it even if the voice acting was awful.
I will probably play Syberia 1 and 2 because i bought them years ago and never played them and recently got them out and put them in plain view so i don't forget about them again! Currently in the midst of playing The Longest Journey but don't know if i'll finish it or not, it seems to be a bit boring at the moment, and perhaps i'll finally finish Amnesia.. |

I don't have much time to play any more, so the list isn't long:
Bracken Tor is a must play. The Last Crown is also a game I'll definitely get. Gray Matter - of course. Then I think I'll get Darkstar. It looks interesting.

So Blonde - I need to finish this... not sure if I should... I bought it because of the AdventureGamers review
Lost Horizon - I'm actively playing this and will likely finish in the coming weeks Edna and Harvey - I've had my eye on this since May 2008. Hopefully I can get my hands on an english version copy on Jan 14th. Book of Unwritten Tales - If an English version comes out I'll probably be playing it. The Next BIG Thing - This one is more of a maybe once I see what it will be like. I'll also be playing (well watching really) the Back to the Future Episodes as they come out. Hopefully I'll find a good First Person adventure too. |

I usually go back and play through older games that I haven't played yet, but as for new games, I'll definitely be playing "Braken Tor" and "The Last Crown".
