Default Adventure Game Confessions

Reading a couple of other threads recently has reminded me of many adventure games that I haven't played, usually by completely missing them first time around and then never getting round to it. There are some absolutely shocking omissions of games which I feel I should have played but haven't, and this must damage my Adventure Gamer Cred!

So anyway, I can't live the lie any longer, even though I own some of these, I have never played:

Monkey Island (any of them)
Indiana Jones (any of them)
The Last Express ( I AM going to Fien, I swear!)
Still Life
DOTT
Grim Fandango

...and lots more obviously, but these are the most shocking.

So, feel free to mock, encourage or even post your own "list of shame"!

I will have to confess never having played Beneath A Steel Sky Also, by the time I got around to firing it up, my Amiga refused to play the Indy adventures, sadly.

Also need to play:
Flight of the Amazon Queen
Broken Sword games
Simon the Sorcerer...

I need to stop now because I am disgusting myself!

I know what you mean, I feel a mixture of self loathing and relief at having confessed!

I still haven't played Tales of Monkey Island

I've never played any of the Zork games

and the most shameful of all, I've been too busy lately playing RPGs (WoW & NWN2) to play the stack of adventure games I recently liberated from ebay

Well, the year's not over yet, but I'm pretty sure I'm going to break my adventure gaming resolution again regarding finishing all the games started but put on hold for the longest time. (I wonder if I'll ever finish The Last Express!)

I have all of the Tex Murphy games but haven't touched any of them.

OK, my turn:
I've started Bad Mojo, but didn't like it and will most likely never finish it. The same with Sam&Max Hit the Road. *runs and hides*
And I hardly know what DOTT is, besides being a 'cartoony' game.

Same here a bit. I didn't like the games Jelena mentioned, so I quit playing them. And what is so bad about not having played a certain adventure game, anyway? It's not like at school, where you had to read certain books. O, how I hated that; it put me off Dutch literature forever.

I'll stick to games that I own:

Grim Fandango - I've tried multiple times to play it but it just keeps crashing on my PC, so this one's not really my fault

Sam & Max: Hit the Road - I've played the beginning...but nothing more since, and I bought it about 2 years ago. Same with...

The Curse of Monkey Island - I wanted to play MI 1 & 2 before playing the 3rd.

The Secret of Monkey Island: SE - I'm about halfway through

Tex Murphy: The Pandora Directive - Purchased from GOG.com, but I'm waiting for the right time to download it so I don't waste my internet usage for the month.

I still haven't played The Longest Journey but I know I'll get around to it eventually.

I'd never played "The Longest Journey" nor "Dreamfall" until last year, because when the games originally came out I was afraid my computer wouldn't be able to run them. This was around the time GTA 3 came out, and it lagged terribly on my system, and that was the time when I switched to console gaming. I've only returned to pc gaming (except for the old classics) since last year with my discovery of Telltale and Steam, and the purchase of a new computer of course.

Games I've still never played is basically everything that came out since 1999/2000, though I'm trying to catch up.

You people make me want to vomit blood. How dare you... I... I can't look at any of you in the same way anymore.

*weeps*

Also, I've hardly played any of the Sierra games; LucasArts was where it was at.

Plim! You start vomiting blood. You are rushed to the hospital in a helicopter. At the hospital they stick tubes and needles in your body until you can't move anymore. Luckily in the real world nobody knows what adventure games are, so you recover quickly.

I didn't play the Sierra games because I didn't like them at all. I played quite a few Lucasarts games but certainly not all of them.

Haha! Yes I have many, I would agree with an earlier mentioning of Grim Fandango and it's ability to crash. I actually played it through to what I believe was moments before the end, and got stuck in some weird glitch. And also somewhow managed to save it there, and have no alternate saves, so I couldn't return to an earlier point
Also, as mentioned in another thread, my lack of Last Express despite owning it. Oh and installed and started Longest Journey multiple, multiple times (I'm sick of the beginning now, with the tree and then the apartment residents -_-)

I did play Grim Fandango multiple times. That was a very good adventure, as were the GK adventures.

It's funny how people often favour Sierra or Lucas Arts.

I have definitely played more Sierra games (as is obvious from my first post!). It's not that I don't like Lucas Arts games or anything, just the way things have panned out I suppose.

I'll definitely try to play more of them once I have finished with Black Mirror 2.

I've played and love games by both companies, but I've played less Sierra games. I'm also still catching up on the King's Quests, never bothered with the Space Quests after the first game.

I'll confess that I absolutely do not like the "Whispered World."

The only Monkey Island game I loved is the only one I played with love and that is "Escape from Monkey Island (EFMI)." I don't even remember the name of the sequel that preceded EFMI.

After Broken Sword 1 & 2 I didn't play any other sequel of the game.

Minus the Gabriel Knight games, I haven't played any of the Sierra games. Nor have I played Bad Mojo, Samorost 1 & 2 or the Zork games.

They're the only ones I can think of at the moment.
