It's called The Curse of Monkey Island. It's awesome.

personally I found MI4 the weakest of the series and the first two the best, but each to their own

Ok, here's all my transgressions:
I love Myst, and Riven is the best game I ever played. Like Jelena, I don't enjoy cartoony adventures. I tried Grim Fandango, Monkey Island, Gilbert Goodmate and Flight of the Amazon Queen. I gave up on all of them. Not enjoyable for me. I have played and enjoyed a very few 3rd person games, but I much prefer first person games. I'm not a fan of innovation in adventures. My idea of progression would be more 3D mouse controlled games like RealMyst, Uru, and Sentinel.

I also really don't like Grim Fandango. Tried it a total of 4 times but always stopped playing after about an hour. I really don't like the whole atmosphere, the characters (especially Manny) the accents and above all the completely awful graphics. This is of course just my opinion. I know it's a great game and will never deny it but it's obviously not for me.

I think the thread is about games we missed playing, not about games we started playing and stopped because of dislike. Intense Degree's first post can corfirm that.

I've never played any Tex Murphy's, GK2, Longest Journey or Dreamfall, Black Mirror, Still Life, Syberia 2 (or most of 1), Myst and sequels or the Last Express... Oh, and Indiana Jones Atlantis, The Dig, Loom...

Aside from many others, I guess my most intense confession would be that I tried Maniac Mansion but didn't like it. Never tried it again...
It's the fact that you can't just look around and think. I got stuck in a cell almost instantly. Then again, as someone said this isn't about that, a few instant reminders are... I've never played any Myst games (or any other 1st person games except the Secrets of Da Vinci), King's Quests (or any other Quests) except KQ VIII, I haven't played the two Monkey Islands in between or the new episodic ones, only the first season of Sam and Max... But most of those are simply because of the fact that I haven't gotten around to finding a decent enough deal on them (though once I held the Sam & Max/Maniac Mansion double pack, but I was too ignorant then to realize what a good deal it was (I thought I'd find it later too) - or that the episodic games still haven't been released on retail. Mainly I'm waiting for re-releases now I'm sure I have some other classics I haven't played either... |
