I you haven't played Machinarium be sure to get it. Personally I also like the Sherlock Holmes games from Frogwares and Nancy Drew.

Today's daily deal is Sam and Max complete (season 1 and 2) for just 14.99. This is an awesome deal for those who don't already own either season.

Does one have to play them on the computer they were downloaded on (that is, on a computer with Steam), or can I transfer the games to a different one (without Steam)?

Not quite. As of this post, there are just over 2.5 hours remaining.

I've picked up quite a few games during the holiday season.
GOG:Tex Murphy (Mean Streets and Martian Memorandum), Beneath a Steel Sky, Teenagent and Lure of the Temptress. All of them for free.
Steam: LucasArts Adventure Pack (Loom, the Dig, Indiana Jones tLC and tFoA), Torchlight, Trine, Braid, Audiosurf, Cogs and Indigo Prophecy for less than 30 bucks
Oh, and I got that Samorost2+Machinarium at the developer's blog for 10 bucks.

So the I find myself wondering: "How the hell I'm supposed to find the time to play all that?". I love my problems

I picked up the following while the sale was going on:

Braid
Machinarium
Samorost 2
Emerald City Confidential
Runaway: A Road Adventure
Runaway: Dream of the Turtle
Secret of Monkey Island: SE
Indigio Prophecy
LucasArts Adventure Pack

I also picked up a couple other non-adventures. I so wish I had a larger budget to work with.

I also got Overclocked, The Experiment, Professor Layton 2 and Scribblenauts during the holidays. Same here, I've got such a large backlog of games now I don't know when I'll finish them.

Well, it doesn't help that I play non-adventures as well.

My backlog of all games (old and new, adventures and not) is now 38 games. I won't be getting anything new until I can whittle that list down to under 15.

Time to break out the cheat codes to the non-adventures to finish them and remove from the list.

Same here. My backlog is a about 26 games and I'll probably take a lot of time to reduce it to a number a consider more acceptable (5 or less). I don't plan on using cheat codes, though but I've just given up on finishing Starcraft because I'm to sluggish to face the AI. Thank heavens for complete video walkthroughs on YouTube.
