Yes i follow things Tibetan and from that area and i read about that oasis that was a valley fed with hot springs that had a microclimate and eternal spring high in the mountains. Lovely image.
There is also a wonderful story by H.G.Wells from which comes the phrase... "In the Land of the Blind, the One Eyed man is king." it is such am amazing story i wont spoil it for anyone who goes digging for it.

Thank you for this extensive preview. I've fell in love with this game since I've first heard of it. Can't wait to play it.
BTW, is August 27th the release date of an english version?

The beauty of backgrounds and models notwithstanding, some of those screenshots offer examples of something that has recently bothered me quite a bit in games with 2D backgrounds and 3D characters: aliasing.
For example (using the imageboard notation of indicating the picture using its size) consider image 148K. The borders of the lady's hat and the newspaper are plagued by jaggies. I notice how many recent games of the aformentioned kind offer no in-game antialiasing implementation, nor does activating it from the video card driver yield any result in several such games. What surprises me is that it used to be a general rule to have such options in any game with 3D elements. Recent trends forced me to believe that such rule is not always taken for granted anymore, much to my dismay. Hence this post. I realize these screenshots are not of the finished product, so I'm obviously not panicking yet. On the other hand, I do hope they will address the possibility of going back to the general rule of adding more options (including antialising) in the "Graphics" section of the game menu, if they haven't already done it. |

I have good friends from Holland who are in the URU community and also some who are great contributors to the MS Train Sim projects. Wonderful people and country. I lived in Europe for a number of years and travelled a lot for my work (painting=art) and how could one do that and ignore the beauties of the Dutch countryside?

I've checked this for you, and received a reply from my helpful contact at the publishers today . . . . "Hi Gelert, I hope you had a fantastic weekend? Wow what a preview, a lovely written piece on the Lost Horizon : ) .................................... Regards to your other email, Lost Horizon will be getting a worldwide release of the 27th August 2010, and I believe will be available in all common languages." Yes. I know. I immodestly kept in the praise bit about the Preview. I was chuffed with that!

Hi Jacques, thank you for this great news! I'm sorry I didn't thank you earlier, but I didn't noticed your reply in the topic.
Can't wait to play the game! But now when we know the date, the waiting will be sweet pain.

Lost Horizon and Point and Click coverage on Rhythm Circus
I hope this doesn't count as viral marketting but i wanted to draw your attention to a preview of Lost Horizon i recently posted on my website.
http://www.rhythmcircus.co.uk/index....amp;Itemid=105 I couldn't agree with Jacques l'aliéné's post more. Lost Horizon is a cracking game with beautiful art direction, clever puzzles and sparkling dialogue. Fenton paddock is like a cross between Nathan Drake and Michael Palin. You can click on the link to read my full thoughts. You can also link from that article to a feature i wrote on Point and Clicks in general, including my personal top 10 - let me know if you agree or disagree. I'm trying to review the best new point and clicks on Rhythm Circus as i love the genre and believe it needs more exposure. Aside from the article and Lost Horizon we've also reviewed Black Mirror 2 and The Whispered World. We're truly living through the point and click renaissance! |

wayward_cloud, this is a fine preview! I welcome any input on this game, while waiting to be released.
Neptin, the cover looks very nice! It's looks like they've managed to put all of my favourite films / games into one package.

The whole cover, including the font of the words, resembles in the Indiana Jones movie series.
