Ugh, trying to use the fishing rod for the first time wore my arm out. I guess I gotta get better at the timing. So frustrating!!

Got this game for Christmas. I like it. It's definitely an Adventure Game, but it is different from the norm. Basically, each "level" in the game is like a mini adventure game... actually somewhat like the "boss fights" in many more traditional adventure games. I've only played through about 7 stages so far, but I like it.

Default if you have a wii and love adventure games

you should hurry out and buy this right away. we received the excellent phoenix wright games on ds because the first one was a pretty good success for capcom. If we show capcom and other game companies that wii owners enjoy this kind of titles, we might just get many more games of this kind. I am currently playing this game and it is a very refreshing take on the adventure genre.

Yeah, I got it for Christmas too along with the Wii. It's very fun and heavily focused on puzzles. There's also a built in hint system, but you have to buy money for hints and once you use them up they're gone until you get more money. It makes great use of the Wii remote too.

It looks good, but I need to have more than one interesting game before investing in a Wii.

This game really reminds me of the Gobliiins trilogy that came out in the 90's. It's great.

Apparently nobody is listening to you, because the game absolutely tanked in retail.

Zack and Wiki is the best adventure game of 2007 in my humble opinion. It is a shame it is not selling well at retail, but Capcom is partially to blame, since I had to go to 3 different stores to find a copy. It is a vicious circle. New original games don't get enough retail shelf space and marketing money, and because of that, they don't sell well so companies end up not spending enough money to market them.

It's crazy that this game isn't selling.

From what I've read it's simply brilliant.

N-Europe even said in their latest article that it's in danger of becoming the greatest game ever that nobody played.

Hey, dear people please buy my games, I need money to conquer Europe! Or do something similar.

Bearing in mind it's not even out in Europe yet, N-Europe may be jumping the gun a little.

Despite the low sales, wasn't there a rumor that a sequel was already in the works?

I suspect Capcom may be attempting to recreate Phoenix Wright's unexpected success. A sequel would be part of that formula.

I played Zack and Wiki.
Great game and I enjoyed a lot.
But I am not satisfied with the story.
This game seems more puzzle game than adventure game.

Are there any good (present or future) reasons for buying a wii except for this one game?

That depends. If you're someone who's likely to enjoy a game like Mario or Zelda, or Metroid, then yes. If not, probably not. It's never worth buying a system for one game, and right now, there are no others that are very similar to Z&W, but we'll see.

There is a Secret Files : Tunguska , Agatha Christie : And Then There Were None , Runaway 2 nad the new CSI coming to the Wio. I also read in a interview that Mr.Sokal gave some time ago that they're thinking of a Sinking Island for Wii.Maybe if these games do well we might see some other new , and maybe old ( like Syberia or The Black Mirror ) for the Wii too.
We shall see.

For adventure games, it's just Zack & Wiki at the moment.

But if you are even remotely interested in platform games then Super Mario Galaxy should add some serious weight to your consideration of purchasing a Wii. It's one of the best games I have played in years. It's also accessible and very easy, and I feel strongly that even the most actionphobic folks around here should think about playing it.

You can add Harvey Birdman: Attorney at Law to that list now! That one sounds fun.

Personally I'm looking forward to Okami and Rockstar's Bully (looks like they're going to try to get away with that name in the UK this time and hope the Daily Mail aren't paying attention). There's rumours about a Beyond Good & Evil 2, and back in purer adventure territory Telltale Games are definitely up to something, though I've yet to see them admit whether it'll be Sam & Max or something completely different.
