Default lost in the darkness within

It seems Mrs. Madrigal is smarter than she thought. She found her own way through the door.
Mrs. Madrigal did not like what she found on the other side!

Mrs. Madrigal doesn't think it would be proper to divulge this information. Suffice it to say, it wasn't pretty and we were not in control.

I've never played a 1st person adventure before and I've been meaning to pick one up for a while now. I was going to go with Scratches after enjoying the demo, but now I think I'll hang on for this. Very spooky, very atmospheric, and quite beautiful. Let's just hope it has a decent plot.

Default For The Game

Spoilers ahead.
Spoiler:
Look at the back of the map. The upper circle has it's triangle points aligned north and south. The lower circle has the points rotated, this is how you must set them. The three arms of the key have different looking ends. Look at the diagram on the floor in front of the big statue for their proper positions.

When you set them following these clues the door will open.

I think I know what the problem is.
Spoiler:

It’s not in the key itself, it’s in the plaque that is under it – there are several ways to assemble it. I think the correct methods is where the big piece goes to the right (or left, I’m not sure). Try both variants, and after each put the “key” on the door and turn it until the symbols match.

It's a bit odd that the lantern can only be picked after we get to the dark corridor. It's frustrating that we can't get the other lantern that is on the table located underground!!!

Yay, i got the game in the mail this morning.
Just installed the game on my hd. But i'm not gonna play it yet, gonna wait until it gets dark outside, horror games are much more effective after the dark.

While I won't be playing this game (first-person-queasiness), I do hope it turns out well. Zoetrope is a great company, and very supportive of writers, artists, filmmakers, and so forth.

When done well first person stuff can be fantastic in adventure games. Secrets of Atlantis and Penumbra: Overture being two recent faves. Imo if its good its good , whatever the style :-)

High hopes for this one

I just e-mailed Ryan Miller and he said, "I’m sure if Myst we’re being made today, we would use a 3D engine, but who knows if it would be nearly as successful - definitely a different time.”

Who knows if they would have done character models, too?
