I'm relatively new and trying to get a grasp on the point and click adventure industry. Is there a list of the top selling independent games, and that provides marketing information such as sales volume, and demographics of the buyers. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Unfortunately, unlike it is in, say, movie industry, it's very hard to get hold of reliable and exhaustive facts and figures regarding selling games, independent or otherwise. In particular, I'm not aware of any website collecting and listing the data you are looking for.
