artwking, I believe the character reminds you of a certain captain, who also happened to be a friend of Tintin?
And I too really like the new cursor... (pssst... could we -please- have some more of your excellent pics posted here?)

Hehe, interesting to see how you find similarities.
Actually, I will tell you how Kaptain came to be. There are some factors that need to be adressed, but its simple... 1. Kaptain Brawe, or Wladek Brawurskij, comes from a made up country called Burgonia, a normal East European country that would probably be under SSSR jurisdiction if it existed. So, if you ponderr a bit about russian characters in games etc, 1st that springs to mind is that bulky guy from Street Fighter games. He has red beard and hair. 2. The game happens in 19th century, and if you search the photos of the adventurers and explorers of that time, you will notice the hair styles and beards all over the place...Think Edwardian aristocracy...are same as his. 3. This outfit stuck in my mind for quite some time, as Scott Bakula wore the simmilar thing in the last episode of Star Trek. It was kinda purple-blueish with golden stripes. And thats about it... I have one more location to finish for the demo...After that its animation time and music composing...Gonna be hard 2 months, but hopefully the demo will be released in May. Glad you like it. BK |

That looks absolutely awesome! Especially the backgrounds.
I just have to point out that his hand is facing the wrong way. That is, his thumb is on the wrong side of his hand... unless he's supposed to have switched his left hand for his right.

Hi all. Need a little critique, and what better place to ask than ADVENTURE GAMERS.
Do you think this is too much for a GUI (verbcoin). Thanks for watching... |

It's very clever. But I think it might be taking up too much of the screen. Or, uh... nevermind. I guess that's just a smaller section of a screenshot you cut and pasted.
Looks good, looks good! It would never hurt to add more interactivity icons, though. Like a tongue!

I like it a lot. I think that's a great verb coin.

The coin is good. Maybe a bit large, but I don't think it's a point. You already know what you're going to interact with. I think it's nice because it's pretty original, a compass.
