Rare games - where to buy?
Hey,
I've always been a fan of the more recent adventure games (broken sword series, blazing dragons, indigo prophecy, dreamfall, etc). but missed alot of the older games by sierra and lucasarts. Looking around the net it seems like theres nowhere to buy these games (im looking specifically for grim fandango and day of the tentacle seeing as how those two games get so much love around here). Lucasarts official site only has more recent games for sale online, is there anywhere else online you guys can think of that i could purchase these games from, either new or used i dont really care. Thanks. |

Hmm... Since when has Grim Fandango been rare? It's uncommon, but you might still chance upon one on the shelf of some stores. And frankly, a quick search of GF and DoTT on both ebay and amazon, still churns out scores of records. I don't really think it's THAT rare...
Anyway, here's an interesting item on ebay... http://cgi.ebay.com/Sierra-Game-Lot-kings-space-police-quest-monkey-island_W0QQitemZ8285079492QQcategoryZ4315QQrdZ1QQc mdZViewItem

Anyway, I live in Singapore, and I do ship stuff in from UK and US quite often. Bulky camera equipment no less. So I really don't understand what's your hesitation with regards of location.

I saw an old version of the budget release of Grim Fandango in a Myer bargain bin the other day. The large stores on occasion have some left over relic of times gone by...
Probably not something to bet on, though.

You have no idea how much it angers me when I see a second hand copy of Grim Fandang and Discworld Noir in stores. Who's the idiots who can't appreciate games, no, art when they play it?

Reselling the game does not mean they didn't appreciate the game.

Try www.cdaccess.com if you don't trust ebay/amazon, although I'm not sure to where they all ship to. That's where I got my lucasarts adventure pack with day of the tentacle, sma and max and fate of atlantis. That was 4 years ago though...
