Will British Games play on American Windows operated computers?

To be more specific; if a game requires Windos XP, it will play on Windows XP in UK, US or Denmark.
The question is not so stupid, really, because DVD movies can not be bought and played as you want. There are different regions, so you must have a code-free DVD player if you live in Europe and want to buy from USA, Australia or Asia (don't know Africa..?). |

Yes, unlike dvds, I've played British games on my American computer. Shouldn't be a problem.
