I have no idea what the problem is. I purchased in good faith.

if its so bad what I have done then why are you praising the release of abandonware on this thread?

http://www.adventuregamers.com/forum...ead.php?t=3527

if i am in the wrong so are you

pot calling kettle black ring any bells.

perhaps I should report you too for telling people abandonware is ok to use. dont have a go at me when you are doing the same yourselves. sorry but it doesnt seem that this forum is made up of whiter than white snow whites.

I have no time for people who are two faced anyhow.

Hi Jemma,

A couple of things. I think DOSbox is for dos games only. Discworld Noir is not a DOS game, as far as I know. Also, if you read that thread to the end, people have determined that this game cannot be true abandonware and cannot be legitimately given away as such. Also, if a site is making you pay for "abandonware" you might be getting ripped off...there are a lot of ill-intentioned places out on the web and be careful.

This forum does not support abandonware in any way. If you read that thread from 2004 properly, you will not see any of the staff supporting the download that was available, and definitely not praising its availability.

If you ended up paying for a CD-rip, you've been ripped off.

This in itself means that you shouldn't have had to pay anything for it. Freeware titles are just that, free, although Discworld Noir isn't freeware anyway.

If you had a proper legal version of the game then maybe we could have helped you, but since all signs point to the opposite, we cannot.

Sorry.
