Default Uru patch is now available

Just a little heads up for you Uru-whores who have a nasty habit of never checking the news section of AG:

Now if only they'd update the demo. It's still totally unplayable on my Radeon

I bet they will. Either an updated demo or a patch that'll fix the current demo.

We don't need to, because Uru's got an automatic updater.

And what about the 56kers who can't play the online part thus are unable to automatically patch just for the singleplayer?

You don't need the online portion to use the updater...

(HAH!)

Tobacco,

What exact card do you have and what version of the drivers are you using? I've got a 9700 Pro AIW (with Direct X 9.0b installed on WinXP Pro) and I'm not even using the newest ATI drivers-- just the ones from June 2003, but the demo does play fine for me.

9500 Pro with the catalyst release from just a couple weeks ago. There's a pretty big power difference between the 9500 and the 9700, though. It could be worse... at least I don't have the 9600

Then why not try downgrading your drivers to 3.6 or 3.7 to see if that helps? I assume you have version 3.9, which is the most recent.

Not having that particular card that it apparantly fixes with the patch, it also says that it fixes a number or other problems. Should one dl it and install, anyways I wonder?

Of course you should! And I think everyone needs the same version to play the online portion anyway...

emma, I did exactly the same thing! I found it cheap last night and ordered it, and what the hell, just got the patch in anticipation.
