Help with mystv demo

I can't seem to do anything with the demo of myst v.. Everyone is discribing how they like it and I'm going nuts just trying to play it.

I've seen some suggestions here and there but I need some real step by step stuff cause I'm a dummy.

Please help me out if you will please.

Ok so here's what you should do if you want to get a bit further...

At first, you are in a blue swampy world. You meet a guy, Esher and he says a whole lot of complicated things to you. (the good thing is that what he says is automatically written in your notebook which you can access by moving your mouse in the upper right screen)

1. Go to the world of Noloben : Just step into the big bubble surounded by tusks and touch the pedestal.

2. Now you're in Noloben. Go out of the bubble and go talk to Esher one more time. He's on the beach, you can see him from where you are.

3. Listen to Esher, and again it's very complicated. Basically,
- There are stone tablets on the pedestals in the bubble
- You can write symbols on it
- Some symbols will cause effects on the creatures (the bahro)
- The effects will be useful to solve puzzles

4. Go inside the bubble and take the tablet. (the hand will take the shape of the tablet)

5. Wander around and explore the age. On the right side of the bubble, a bit further from where Esher was you will see a myst-like device.

6. As usual, it is weird and of course it will be highly relevant for the quest.
Look carefully at the symbols.
Notice the gleaming symbols on the stone tablet at your feet.
I wonder what will happen if one of the creatures saw it?

7. Copy the symbol on the tablet, then go to the beach between the bubble and the device. Put the table on the floor, this will attract a creature...

ok, i got the symbols after it rained and managed to get one of the cave doors open with putting the symbols on the rotating columns above the caves. however only one of the doors opened for me...and i cant seem to figure out what / where to go...anyone care to help??
