Swat 4
The SWAT series has come a long, long way. I mean, the 1st game was a spin-off of the Police Quest series, and now the 4th one is a first-person tactical shooter. Things have definetely changed.
It may have lost all adventure elements, but SWAT 4 is still a really good game, and hopefully won't get overlooked with all these other big FPS coming out. Searching through a house to find a serial killer is a lot more intense than you could imagine, especially when you find he's built a series of tunnels down in the basement. If you ever wanted to re-enact the end of Silence of the Lambs, your game has come. So if you're looking for a really solid FPS, check out SWAT 4. You won't be disappointed.

I played the demo, it was great fun! Definitely lots of replay value. I should get it sometime later.

It's on my list. The graphics might be basic technically, but they really gave their all in design and atmosphere so who cares!

I beat it about a week ago, and I’d have to say, the level with the guy who kidnaps all those college girls alone is worth the price of admission. I never thought I’d be so scared playing swat 4.

Just wondering, how's the package for the US version (I mean, how are the cd's packed)?
Usually Vivendi Universal's games come in paper sleeves, if that's the case I'll wait for a price drop in the European release. |

The CDs were in sleeves. I just wrote a review on Swat 4, found here:
http://www.2404.org/modules.php?name...content&id=104 Oddly enough, our review of Still Life has gotten more unique hits ina short amount of time than most of our more mainstream PC releases. I really enjoyed Swat 4 and continue to play it as we wpeak. I especially love the homage to Sonny Bonds in the tutorial. |
