Glass Rose

Only joking

On a serious note - you might want to try Shadow of Memories, unless you've already played the PC version

I liked Suikoden III, myself. It's an RPG if you're in to that sort of thing. There's also Suikoden IV out, too, but I haven't played it yet.

If you want a great platformer, I HIGHLY recommend the Sly Cooper series. The first game is decent, but Sly 2: Band of Thieves is easily one of the best games I've ever played.

A new PS2 retails at 149.99 $ here in the US without even a memory stick, so that's a darn good deal.

As far as games go, here are a few I can recommend:
- God of war. Every website is giving it a 9.x/10
- Ratchet and clank series (Ratchet and clank, ratchet and clank going commando, ratchet and clank up your arsenal)
- Sly cooper series (Sly cooper and Sly 2 band of thieves)
- Viewtiful Joe 1 & 2
- Metal gear solid 3 snake eater(I don't dig it but a lot of people swear by it)
- Grand theft auto san andreas
- ICO
- Katamari Damacy
- Psi-ops: the mindgate conspiracy
If you like fighting games (Mortal Kombat: Deception)

For driving there is:
- Gran Turismo 3 and 4
- Burnout 3

For sports my favorite is:
- Winning eleven 8 international (great soccer game)

Oh, YES, how could I forget Katamari Damacy?

If you can find that game, it's the best $20 dollars you've ever spent. I have honestly yet to find a single person who doesn't like it.

OK, I'll definitely get ICO and BG&E. For now that is. How about advs? Are there any for ps2 at all? If not, how about psx? I'm looking for really good games, don't have that much cash to spend to be buying mediocre stuff (and that much time to play either ).

Broken Sword and Discworld 1 and 2 have made their way to PSX back in the day. But you've probably already played them for PC.

yeah... I was wondering more if there was ever an adventure that was made for PSX/PS2 but never ported or made for pc.

I know, I'm a demanding guy

Consoles and adventures don't gell What you get are sports/driving titles, platformers, 3rd person action/hack n slash plus japanese turn based RPG games, and fighting games.

And by the way, If you want to buy beyond good and evil, please do me a favor and get yourself a PC or XBOX version. You will lose a lot in the graphics department if you play it on a PS2.

Yeah, most console games look far better on the PC, so if your computer is relatively up to snuff just get the PC version of that game. I have BG&E for PC and it looks absolutely gorgeous on it - crisp, vibrant, and sharp. The Xbox version looks far stronger than the PS2 one (more powerful hardware, natch).

Not all console-to-PC ports are good, though. I think Shadow of Destiny was badly ported, graphically and in other ways (they practically screwed it up by not optimizing the graphics for the more powerful PC, it had so much potential).

As far as I'm concerned, the Xbox is a much better platform for console adventures.

[slightlyofftopic]Having played BG&E on all 4 formats, I'd pick gamecube because a) controller, i love the gc controller and b) i'd rather play any console version on our 32" lounge tv than my 19" pc monitor but that's just my opinion [/slightlyofftopic]

You can hook up your PC to a TV. And get a wireless mouse and wireless keyboard. There you go

It certainly is.

BTW, does anyone here know how to calibrate an Xbox game so that it looks like what it's supposed to look like on a 60" LCD HDTV screen?
