Even if I did write home my Mom wouldn't know WTF I was talking about.

Quote:
Dear Mom,

I just finished Splinter Cell, and let me tell you I absolutely loved it! The graphics were extraordinary, and the sound was pretty impressive. I loved tossing empty pop cans to distract guards, picking locks, and sticking to the shadows to avoid detection. I'll tell you more about it when I come visit.

Love you,
Trep
A week later:

Quote:
Dear Baby Trep,

Are you okay? I knew it, I shouldn't have let you go to summer classes in Seattle, you know how I always worry. I sent you another care package, with a large size pack of Band-Aids for your splinter. Cell? What cell? Are you taking a biology course? That sounds great, maybe it's not too late for a brain surgeon in the family, your dad would be so proud. Just don't tell me about the graphics, you now how the mere sight of blood makes me dizzy. I didn't even know cells make sounds, and you did say it's impressive, I believe you.

Didn't I tell you not to drink out of soda cans? There's all sorts of germs, at least wash them first. And please don't toss them at people, I hope they recycle where you are. Why do you have to pick the lock on your door, did you lose your dorm key? And stop hiding in the shadows, you know how sickly you look when you hadn't been out in the sun. Your sister looks great, she's got that golden glow from her vacation in Palm Beach, you should see her.

Well, I've gotta go. Marge and Jan are coming over to gossip, and I need to tidy up, you know how finnicky they are. Dad says hi.

Love you,
Mom

The bad thing about Manhunt is that the stealth part is ALL illogical, not just some bits...it's ridiculous...
and as the game is only based on the bloody part and on the stealth, and as the second part is awful, what is there to play for?

Everyone to their own, i thorougly enjoyed the stealth in Manhunt, more so than Hitman and Splintercell, it also has a great Runningman style atmosphere.

Blooooooooooood . I mean, I played Hitman, and Splinter cell. I was really annoyed with all that shooting up light bulbs and guards walking in dark like nothing happened. I mean the stealth is better made in Splinter cell, but not much (or as Mares stated: I wouldn't write to my mom about it... Like Trep did ). And I really didn't enjoy the story in SC (it's BS all the way, Georgia dictator, blah blah blah ... ). So to find stealth illogical in stealth games is sooooo easy. And I repeat once more: you'll have the true stealth experience if you "make it stealth" yourself. (Tom Clancy )

I propose that 100ja be called Stoja from now on. After all, that's how you pronounce the number 100 in our respective languages (sto). That, I believe, is basically what he's shooting for--Stoja is an actual nickname, derived from Stojan or Stojadin, or the last names connected to them. The name means Steady, or Firm. So 100ja's real name must be either Stojadin Mitrovic, Mitar Stojadinovic, Mitar Stojanovic or the like.

Well, sometimes when I'm at home, I'll talk to my parents about a certain game I'm playing, and they always just do the nod and smile. Dunno why I keep talking about it with them. I guess I need to tell SOMEONE about it.

Come to think of it, I haven't done that since I joined these forums. Thanks for helping me find an outlet.

You're welcome, my precious little son.

BTW, I saw a couple clips of Manhunt gameplay over at Game Trailers. It's horribly violent, the sounds of a baseball bat crushing the skull are sickening, and the death animations are hard to watch. The game switches to a voyeuristic camera view with every successful hit.

Hmmm. I saw it for PC at BestBuy, but maybe I can persuade my bro-law to get it for Xbox, he's interested in it after all.

The game is quite sick, and it bursts with violence. But there is something about it, because I wouldn't have finished it otherwise (or maybe I'm just a sicko too ). BTW it gets a bit repetitive, so it took me about 2-3 weeks to finish it (haven't been playing it every day).

Though I am kind of interested in trying the game, I doubt it would be wise of me to write home to mom about it. She's suspicious enough as it is about these violent computer games.

This'll make me sound like a sick psycho, but my favourite stealth kill thus far is the piano wire strangling from the Hitman series. First time I ever did it, I had to turn my eyes from the screen.

My favorite was from Hitman 2, where you dressed up as a surgeon, walked into the operating room where your target was having heart surgery, and killed him with the scalpel.
