Psychonauts is $2 on Steam
Anyone interested in well-written, entertaining third-person action-adventures should drop the two bucks and pick this game up!

I wasn't supposed to be buying games now but I just couldn't say no to this deal. That's what I pay for a 1,5 liter coca-cola.

BG&E for $4.99:
http://store.steampowered.com/app/15130 I already own Psychonauts, but I bought it again. Reason: I lent it to my brother-in-law, and it's more expensive to drive to his place! |

What a great deal. BG&E is one of the best games ever made!

I had once borrowed psychonauts and played through it, and would buy it now for a replay, if it weren't for all the frustrating game design faux-pas, that I dread living through again..

Well, if I recall correctly, after equipping certain items (that would stay in hand after use), there was no option to map a quick button for unequipping them. This proved especially frustrating with the web-remover, as you couldn't interact with the world while holding it (unless it was a web, of course). So that after each use of said item, I'd have to go back into the item menu and select another, single use object (like bacon, for instance, thus going through the dialogue that involved), for it to go away. Because even there I couldn't pick "nothing".
Oh, and I hated the whole running around the camp digging for arrows thing.

I loved Psychonauts but my biggest problem with the game was the last couple of levels which pushed my patience to the limit (and I'm a fan of Demon's Souls and F-Zero GX). Seriously they weren't even fair, they were just tedious and beyond frustrating. Other than that the game was a blast. It's also home to the finest level design of all time: The Milkman Conspiracy.

I'm getting a big kick out of the comments from the various "workers" in this level. Their deadpan style and voice reminds me very much of Joe Frank, who is probably the best radio performance artist ever: http://www.joefrank.com/ |

Spoiler:. I'm having an easier time playing the game now, after having played some other action games. I've found that moving the camera really helps a lot. |
