Default STEAM 5 days of one day sales on now!

http://store.steampowered.com/early-holiday

Dragon Age is $38 USD
Batman Arkham Asylum is $25 USD...

THQ complete pack (everything ever released by THQ on steam, including newest release titles like Red Faction Guerilla) for $50 USD. This is insane considering stand alone, in Australia you have to pay $70AUD for Guerilla alone. Briefly, get past that shitty region pricing and get 17 other games, for less than the price of Guerilla...

and more. Not much time left, new bunch of titles on sale 'tomorrow'.

Wonder if Left 4 Dead 2 will end up in this sale.

I am grinding my teeth in hope that Borderlands shows up there.

Recently the Australian publisher (Take 2) of this title came to the realisation that it was selling too well on steam at the actual sticker price of $55USD. This upset them because they're neck deep in the shit with bricks and mortar stores down here that are blatantly gouging the public to the tune of $70-90 for this title in a box.

So they pulled the digital version from Steam for a week, and it returned for sale a couple of days ago for nearly $80, just for the Australia and NZ regions.
I kid you not, they even released a press release claiming it was a discount price at $80.

I put off buying it on release because I wanted to wait for a critical patch. The patch was released the day after it was pulled for sale. I'm really hoping this steam sale lets me raise a big ol' "fuck you" to Take 2.

Oh ouch, hopes it does. I actually got that for the 360 since Asda over here dropped it down in price quite a bit. Held off getting it at release since I had a feeling it was gonna drop in price pretty fast.

Been adicted to it too

Yea saw that, comes to 22.49gbp. Now that it's there though I don't feel like buying it...

KOTR for 1.79 is pretty tempting, although any game for that price would be pretty tempting

I was pretty excited to finally buy KOTOR, but I paid $2.49. (Not complaining!)
Now it's back to $9.99.

Cracked and bought that THQ pack. Though now I regret buying Saints Row 2 for ÂŁ3-odd when it was on sale a few weeks back (since I hadn't even gotten around to playing it).

It really, really irritates me that you can't gift games that are already in your Steam account. I'm not quite sure how they justify taking a copy that I've bought away from me.

Grr, I missed that it was a one day sale . . . Now I'm gonna have to buy it at $9.99--or just not obsessively replay it, which would be, like, a normal thing to do.

1.79 GBP is more expensive than $2.49 US. We got a deal!

Crossing fingers for Armored Princess now. I was all set to get this on release but so much of it looks like reused King's Bounty material that I'm hesitant to pay full fare for mild improvements.

Question. How was King's Bounty? I have it, but i'm not tempted to play it right now.

Crossing my fingers for Jade Empire SE at $2.49. I might also try Oblivion if it goes on special.

Personally I loved it.

Its a beautiful game, with so much care put into its presentation. The gameplay is simple and rewarding, almost elegant.

Its not a story driven game, its a 'have fun' driven game. It doesn't take itself seriously. The quests always have a light hearted spirit to them. I have often thought of it as a wonderful board game come to life with delicious computer graphics and animation.

As a kid my all time favourite board game was Games Workshop's Talisman (2nd Edition).

If you don't enjoy the core battle mechanics though, you won't enjoy the game, because battle is really the focus. Pretty character animations performing on a hex based battlefield grid. As you level up you get new abilities to assist your troops but the real focus is on opening up access to new troop types (fantasy tropes like dwarfs, dragons, undead).

How many days of the sale are left? Any chance there'll be some genuine adventure games next? I'm hoping for "Secret Files: Tunguska"

Well there was always the Lucasarts collection. Closest to adventure gaming as it is going to get.

Yeah, I already got the original releases years ago I'm looking for the games I've missed since 1999 or so.
