Default Braid

I discovered this little gem on XBLA yesterday and was so impressed by the demo, I went out and paid the full whack for the game. I know the rewind feature isn't new (see Blinx), but implemented into this game, it works superbly! I've completed the first world and about 1 door away from the 2nd (I'm making it an effort to collect every puzzle piece before I progress) and I've not been disappointed.

When XBLA announced the summer of 08 lineup and this was mentioned I had no clue what it was about, but dare I say, could this be the sleeper hit for the Arcade of 08?!

Have any of you played it and if so what did you think?

BTW, if you want to add me to friends, my gamertag is Yar TTomlliw.

This game sounds like a must-play. I wish it were coming to Wii!

But then, if I had an XBox 360 I'd be complaining that I wouldn't get to play Flower, and if I had a PS3 I'd be complaining that I wouldn't get to play World of Goo. This multiplatform thing sucks.

Agreed. I hope they decide to branch out to other systems with Braid. It could work on either PS or Wii, no problems. But then, Microsoft seem quite handy with this 'exclusivity' clause in every contract ...

I totally agree. I wish they would all decide on one platform with motion-control, HD graphics, and blu-ray, with Live's features, PC's free online play and ease of programming, that has the ability to play XBOX original titles, PS classic games and virtual console games, all the Wii games, PS3 games and XBOX 360 games. Hell let's take it one extra step, Every old third party can put their old catalog there (like the ability to download Dreamcast games ). Imagine how much better the gaming world would be.

I'm playing Braid now too. Having got all the puzzle pieces, I recently found out there are also 8 hidden stars to find. My obsessive completionist disorder means I must find them all!

Is it possible to get all the puzzle pieces in the demo?

I've read about this game, sounds like it's really good. To bad that I don't have an Xbox-360.

Yes (at least, I don't see why not - each world's puzzle pieces are self-contained, so there's nothing you need from the full game to help).

Ok. I was just wondering as the final piece is way out of my reach. I guess I just need to figure out a way to jump higher.

I say the same. (I read an article by David Hellman, where he talked about the process of painting those good looking backgrounds.)

Good thing a PC version is on its way.

That one's really devious.

Spoiler:
Think outside the game world.

I played the demo of this game a while back and was left very much impressed. Been following the development blog as Blow has some interesting things to say. He speaks a lot at game conferences and IGDA gatherings. Makes some good points.

btw There's going to be a PC version, apparently... in future.

A PS3 version has not been ruled out either.

This is clearly the best thing to happen to XBLA since it was created. A gorgeous, fun, and brain-twisting downloadable title that is easily accessible by everyone.

Man, I have to get this still for my 360 and Bionic Commando: Rearmed and Street Fighter Alpha for my PS3 and Strongbad for my Wii. Gotta get some points first....

What a great month for online services!!!

I have been playing this game religiously, and have gotten in the few top 100's of the speed runs available. Everyone should buy this game.
