It looks very generic. But then so did Baldur's Gate, and it's one of my favourite RPGs.

Not like them!

It looks like it really wants to be the Lord of the Rings movies. I already have those DVDs.

I think it needs more fanboy-infuriating colour. It all looks a bit flat and shiny. We know you have normal maps now. You don't need to draw attention to them. Also it took this trailer to make me realize I'm really done with high fantasy.
Gameplay and story better be mindblowingly fantastic, else I'll happily pass. |

I agree, it's too shiny. That shinyness reminds me of the videos in Baldur's Gate 1. That's not a bad thing, but it just makes things look unreal. Bioware can do better, Mass Effect at least proves that.
I just hope the in-game graphics will be better (remember, this from someone who thinks the graphics in Monkey Island are excellent. ). -

How exciting! It looks just like everything we have seen before. A bold move from Bioware. Most studios at least try to add something of their own, but Bioware has never been one to meekly follow the masses.

wow, the screens do look promising.
I just hope I can finish Baldur's Gate 2 before this thing comes out. |

I guess this just isn't my kind of game.
Looks pretty generic and boring to me, just the usual medieval fantasy stuff... ...I mean, I never was a big fan of Bioware, but at least I was always intrigued in some way by every game they've released. But this........nah. |

Yeah, it was called Baldur's Gate.
This is intended to be a "spiritual successor" to that series, so I am personally more pumped for this title than any other as BG2 was probably the best RPG I have ever played on a PC. I am upgrading my rig just for this release (though the performance gains will easily translate into great things for StarCraft 2, Red Alert 3, Crysis (finally), Far Cry 2, Diablo 3, Fallout 3 and many more. Can't wait!! |

I didn't like it at first, but these isometric screens are pushing all the right buttons for me. They almost make me want to play ToEE again.
