From what I have been told about the licencing of games in XBOX format I dont think the Xbox will defeat sony ps3. I was told that xbox doesnt buy the game rights it expects the makers of the game to carry all the cost of producing the game and then only get money if the game sells well.[I think I could be wrong and often are]
