What did I say that's so strange? Jazz Jackrabbit is an action-platformer; this team obviously isn't a bunch of brilliant world designers who need the exploration to display their art with, and this obviously isn't the sort of game which needs that kind of exploration. I don't see why everyone thinks that when you move to 3D you suddenly need to make the gameworld more realistic and put more emphasis on exploration. JJ is about jumping, and it's about shooting.

If you say so. I can't argue since as noted I don't remember much about it. But the world in that video is neither lush nor unique, so that doesn't hold.

Well, it's also a proof-of-concept demo, supposedly, rather than a final product.
Either way, I agree that it looks disappointing when viewed today. And it's perhaps for the best, therefore, that it wasn't released. I'd certainly like to see another Jazz Jackrabbit game one day, though . |
