Zelda series,Final Fantasy series,Halo,Fable,Fahrenheit,Neverwinter Nights,Quake series,Half Life 1-2,Doom 3,The Movies,SW:Empire at War, etc.

i hardly think that anyone who thinks that Grim Fandango is overrated because many rate it highly can say that Fahrenheit is overrated, considering that many people absolutely hate it to the point where it takes the piss (I dont, i thought most of it was good until the introduction of mr. green internet man and that accidental lack of closure).
I think HalfLife 1 and 2 get as much praise as they deserve (if they get more, then its only a bit more).

MY OVERRATED LIST:
Myst series (about as interactive as a coma)
certain Final Fantasy games (definately not 7, possibly 8 though)
Quake series (just Doom but darker and actually 3D)

By your own logic, you can't call Myst series overrated, either. At least as many people hate it with a passion as in the case of Fahrenheit.
