He doesn't even have to make the show himself, you know. If I had invested some 7 years into a property andhad it fully fleshed out, I'd want to use it for more than one single game. I completely understand the motivations behind not doing a sequel, and I'm pretty much behind that, too. Unless you can really add something to it and make it a true SEQUEL instead of a remake like 99% of all 'sequels', it's not worth it and mostly only detracting from the original game. But a cartoon show would be complimentary to the game, expanding and enriching.

We need Genndy Tartakovsky and Tim Schafer to team up to make a Psychonauts cartoon.

Look, Rodi, just because you're heart and soul into comics doesn't necessarily mean Shafer is automatically interested in it as a business venture and artistic medium.

Tartakovsky.....pass.

I think it'd be pretty cool as a Henry Selick stop-motion animation...

or else leave it computer animated.

John Kricfalusi would be the perfect person to make the Psychonauts Cartoon. Does anyone out there remember how trippy Ren and Stimpy were back before they got ripped from John K's bosom?

YOU FOOL

There's no cartoon that has ever such an explosion of insane genius and creativity as Samurai Jack.

EDIT:
Okay, maybe Ren & Stimpy.

Kricfalusi never got Ren and Stimpy back. What are you talking about? Nickelodeon took it over and fired him at the end of the second season.

I'm not denying that. I don't think his style would do Psychonauts any justice, however.

I dunno about John K. either, simply because he specialized in gross-out animation, which again I don't think fits Psychonauts.

He did a season or two for SpikeTV (another Viacom company, so they could use the license from Nick) called "Ren & Stimpy: Adult Party Cartoon" a couple years back. It was apparently well animated, but totally unfunny. I still like John K though.

There was however a couple of Nick episodes on that season, but nick decided to not show them...

And if anyone should handle an animated version of Psychonauts then its Tim Burton

Twas. Season 1 and 2 are where the best of Ren & Stimpy lie. Luckily they are uncensored on dvd.

Hasn't it occurred to you that the only guy perfect for making a Psychonauts cartoon would be, you know, Schafer himself? Teamed up with people that DON'T already have this totally unique style of animation that should really really rather do their own projects?
