Default 1213 - A New Game from Fully Ramblomatic

I've looked around here, but couldn't find any mention of Yahtzee's new game, 1213. Once again, Ben demonstrates the flexibility of the AGS engine, this time by making a platformer. To quote his original post elsewhere:

I still like to mess around with Adventure Game Studio, mainly because it's the only tool I really know how to use, and lately I was hit with the idea to try and use it to make a 2D platformer in the vein of Prince of Persia or Flashback (i.e. jumpy shooty climb up ledges etc), but highly plot driven and with a blend of combat and adventure-style puzzles akin to survival horror. It turned out to be easier than I thought, so here's the completed first episode of this game, which I call 1213. It uses the old chestnut of 'amnesiac waking up in a cell with no idea of how he got there', but I like to think it has a little more depth than that.

I'm spreading this around pretty much all the forums I know of to get opinions and stuff. Here's the page I made with the download links:

This is the first episode of a planned three. Thanks for your time, enjoy the game.

Oh yeah, I guess this might be worth repeating if some new guys have turned up since my last appearance - I'm the guy who wrote 5 Days A Stranger and some other games.
Cheers,
doroposo

Oops. Guess I shouldn't have quoted that line.

I like it. Very atmospheric. I'd go as far as to say that the amnesiac character in a cell thing may be more archetype than cliche (or maybe I'm just trying to excuse it because I like the concept.) The animations really have the same sort of feel as Prince of Persia as well, even if the game as a whole feels more like Another World to me. It's really good to see the diversity of AGS being tapped as well; I was going to attempt a platformer hybrid in it until I realised I was too ignorant and lazy...

Up to Yahtzee's usual standard (though is anyone else disturbed by how much he likes throwing blood all over the walls? )

The really scary part so far was when I got into the gym and

Spoiler:
The hideous monster I saw in there earlier had gone. Expecting a tough battle was fine but no longer knowing when that thing might leap out at me is really unnerving.
