It's odd to think how much has happened with games in just ten years....

I still prefer Doom to most FPSs.

Wow, I can't believe it's been ten years already. Doom was the reason why I ditched 286 and got a 486, as I recall. Ah good memories.
I like Doom 2 too. It has a spine-chilling intro music and a double barreled shotgun.

I still get the e1m1 music from Doom 1 stuck in my head from time to time. I would like it to be included in Doom 3 but I suspect Doom 3 is going for a slightly different mood than overly extreme midi electric guitar, but still. I mean, we all know that's the mood they should be going for with the new one.

I never got into Doom. I didn't have a PC at the time it was released, and by the time it got ported to the Amiga I had one and Quake had been released.

This might be the reason I'm not a huge fan of FPSs in general.

Most of all, i'd really love if Bobby Prince would've made the music for Doom3.

But it's going to be again something like Quake1, and I don't like that idea.

I hate doom. To me, the glorious period of FPS stopped after Wolfenstein 3D .

I tried Doom once and I really don't see what the fuss is about.

How can you dis the quake 1 soundtrack, that thing is freaky turned up real loud at night. Lots of lawnmowers and people ripping off bandaids really quickly.

RIP AND TEAR

Doom... FPS... the start of the downfall of the game-industry.

Damn, I know there's and incredible appatite for these FPS's, but the genre never ever did anything for me. There are a few games that's worth a buy, but damn... is that genre overused now or what?

So in a way Doom wrecked the whole industry, because suddenly the shelves were filled with good and bad fps. For every good FPS there was 50 bad ones, and for every game in another genre, there would be about 20 FPS.

Doom, I love you now, but I still hate you. I will always remember.
