System Shock
After so long, I've finally got System Shock and am able to play it through Windows as opposed to having to press Ctrl-X in DosBox to increase speed (and mess up sound as it seems).

The original System Shock is a true masterpiece. Sadly, I played over two thirds of it with puzzles and cyberspace on hard and combat on pathetically easy, only to find that cyberspace combat became really nasty, so I never actually finished the game. One day, I'll have to go back and complete this, because, to this day, I regret not having finished it .
I assume you found the patch that fixes the memory error, then, Hammerite. Enjoy! |

This was a great game, though the controls in cyberspace could be tricky. Some guys over at Through The Looking Glass just patched the CD version to run in 800x600, and 1024x768 mode. You should definitely try their patches, if your system can run it.

My first impression of this game was great, but I could never get used to the controls and gave up shortly afterwards.
I love the sequel. Never beat it though because ... well you know |

I always play it in fullscreen mode because without it just bugs me. Did you try that, Jayel?

System Shock 2 is one of my all-time favorite PC games. Excellent use of atmosphere and storytelling. I seriously can't count the times I turned around, saw a hybrid inches from my face, and jumped out of my skin. I tossed the mouse on accident several times during that game

This utterly uninspired, moronic, craptalicious piece of dreck should have never seen the light of day. What a waste!
