Default Blizzard's big announcement

http://www.battle.net

In Blizzard's Battle.net website there is the intro page that reads 10 7 05.
In the background every refresh loads a new picture, there's an Orc from Warcraft, an Elf from Warcraft, characters from Starcraft, someone said that even a Diablo related pic is there.

So what could the Big Announcement be?

Starcraft 2? Warcraft 4? Warcraft Adventures? Diablo 3?

I guess we'll know in a few hours...

There's also what appears to be an undead from Warcraft.

Somebody suggested that there's an image of a wireframe-planet in the centre of every picture. So maybe it's StarCraft-related?

Maybe it's Warcraft Starcraft AND Diablo.

Maybe they'll release a new planet?

Aww, come on! It's Blizzard. It's either gonna be J.R.R. Tolkien's The Lord of the Rings, Vol. II (finally, after all these years!), Lost Vikings III or an expansion pack for Rock'n'Roll Racing. Great!

Quite possibly.

Anyway, my point is, if you look at the eye-part of the images (it's clearer on some images than others), you'll see what looks like a wireframe planet. And if you enter the main Battle.net site and hover your mouse over the StarCraft logo, you'll see a very similar thing.

So I'm hoping it's StarCraft 2.

I read somewhere that this is just more info on the Warcraft 3 expansion. But I'm hoping for another Starcraft game .

What a rubbish announcement, in fact. They've just relaunched their website ...

Why would they put a bunch of hype on BATTLE.NET if it was a new game!?!? Don't you think they would put that on BLIZZARD.COM?

I predicted it might just be a website makeover, and Chris predicted that at most it would be a Blizzard downloadable game client like Steam or something. Turns out it was just a new site

When you launch a new version of a website, especially a community site, its nearly impossible to resist the temptation to go nuts with little jokes and hype to have fun with your community. That's what launching a new website rev is all about. You'd think the internet (especially online fan communities) would be used to site re-launch hype and tomfoolery by now.

Would you believe me if I told you that I saw this posted as news at computerandvideogames.com?
