I got he jap version, but it's going up on ebay so I can actually understand what the f*ck is going on. Plus I haven't fed my puppy in three weeks and am feeling guilty.

I've been thinking about buying Nintendogs, should I?
Come on squaresie, convince me to buy Nintendogs, now it's your time to be a salesman.

Seeing how your taste in games is very similar to mine (if not almost identical) I STRONGLY recommend that you get your hands on Nintendogs. I've had the european version for two weeks now (thank you Nintendo for caring about loyal customers ) and I am totally in love! I didn't think much of it at first being a real "cat-person" and loathing everything Tamagotchi but to my suprise I started to really care about my digital friend. God knows how they did it but they managed to give each puppy a truly unique personality not unlike the real thing. It is also the first title that truly puts the DS to work and uses all of it's unique features in brilliant fashion -> the dual screens, the microphone, the touchscreen, wireless comminication, the works... The 3d-engine is still limited (we all know the DS is no PSP) but the animation along with a great physics-engine make it come to life more than any portable "game" out there. As far as the game-elements are concerned; there is loads of stuff to play around with that is being unlocked while you play, keeping the 'game' fresh and exciting and and tedium at bay. The contests that you can enter your dog in are the only thing really game like to this DS-card and you will have to train your pup well in order to truly compete. Yet as you grow as attached to your dog as it is to you, you will really want it to win. HOWEVER: Be prepared that if you buy this for the novelty factor, as Squarsie obviously has done (no offence) you will be sorely disappointed. In order to truly appriciate the marvel that is Nintendogs you will have to suspend your believe into thinking that this is a real puppy that you are caring for, demanding time and perseverance. The quality of Nintendogs is that it can make you do this. And NO I didn't think this was possible before playing it as well. On the line of neglecting your puppy: You can (if you're an insensative bastard) neglect it for weeks and the worst thing that can happen is that your pup will temporarely run away or be in a bad mood as well as having some fleas. All in all nothing a little attention, food and a bath won't cure. Also if you have several dogs that you can bring them to a puppy-hotel so you can focus on just one of them. Well I'm off to train my pup since we've got a big match coming up... P.S. I've also just bought Nanostray, Another Code and Meteos but I haven't really touched them since Nintendogs. I'm just not sure if this is a good or a bad thing.

This thread need bumping now that the Nintendogs are released upon the general public...
BTW: I introduced my puppy (a shiba inu) to my friend's fresh new puppy (a boxer) yesterday and what do you know; our breeds were then unlocked in each other's game, other races are also unlocked once you earn enough trainer points. Gotta catch 'em all, I guess Can't wait for the moment when I'm commuting and there are several people/ puppies on the train, all interacting with one-another. Then I won't be the only weirdo talking to my DS in public.. Spoiler:
