Disappointed
Darn - I thought that both sites were supportive of each other - something both sites had worked hard on doing, the professionalism thing. Stinger, this doesn't become you.
I like to visit several different adventure gaming sites. Each one has their own tone and point of view. I learn something different from all the sites I visit. If there is competition between the sites, I'd like it to be "friendly" competition. I come here to learn about adventure games, not to trash other adventure gaming sites. I'm a "lurker" here (hey, I'm planning to post!), and I learn a lot by reading the reviews and the forum. |

Well I like both JA and AG just the same.
And this thread makes me sad. What with all the negative vibes going around.

You guys should re-read that suggestion in the first post and take a guess as to who may have written it. Well, whatever. Maybe we should keep this stuff to ourselves next time, as obviously no one can see what the joke is really about.

Yeah, I think everyone badly missed the joke, the joke being that someone thought there is some inherent need to compare the two sites, like we're both competing for subscriber revenue or something. Honestly, the only reason I thought it was funny enough to post was because it suggested that we need to be a "balanced" site and because, most amusingly, it said that we won't be worth crap "until we have screenshots." If you read my original post as me trashing JA+ and trying to promote some fantasy site war, then you have only your own wild imagination to blame.

Apologies
HI,
My deepest apologies Stinger - I completely misunderstood your post! Again, sorry. The post did seem to unlease a flurry of unkind remarks about other site, unfortunate about that. Again, my apologies. |

Oh c'mon! For all I know Marek himself could have written it. (hee, that would be hilarious!) Or Captain Anonymous or whoever. I want hard facts! Evidence!
Seriously, that message sounds very childish, immature and petty. I can't believe anyone beyond the age of 14 could write something like that. --Erwin

Guys, enough of this, ok? I'm sure some JA members are visiting this thread, and they might mistake us as immature youngsters incapable of rising above all this rivalry crap.
It's evident the author of that post Stinger quoted is himself immature and severe in his criticism, but let's just discuss that and not resort to unfair bashings of any site or anyone.

Trep has it just right. A site shouldn't have to resort to pretty insults about other places. But I don't think Evan was trying to incite anything, he was just bringing something he found amusing to our attention...

From a user-interface perspective, I will say that Adventure Gamers is a lot easier to navigate. While Just-Adventure might have more columns more often, they too often turn into the "The Adventure Game Genre Isn't Dead! All Other Games Are Rubbish!" sort of thing.

I read over this thread and the one that Jake linked to, and I'll just say that I'm not touching the AG vs. JA+ fighting. I do second AGA's opinion on JA+'s site layout and design, though.

It is quite quaint how sophomoric and immature Jim seems to be when he's not stuffing our age down our throats and telling us that we're stupid since young. Irony galore.

That doppelganger rex personality seems to pop out at the most unexpexted times, Kingz.
