Let's create more default forum avatars
It just struck me that the pre-defined avatars on the forums could use some additions. It's been a long while since we added the current batch. There's no 3D Sam and Max (or other characters from the series), no Phoenix Wright, no Ankh characters, Hotel Dusk, Sherlock Holmes, Runaway 2, Broken Sword 4, The Shivah, CSI... and those are just a couple off the top of my head. There are obviously many characters from years not in the current set either.
I would create some right now, but I should probably just be focusing on programming the site. Last time a couple of you guys provided some of the avatars, and that worked out really well, so I thought it'd be fun to open this up to the whole community and pick the best ones together. Just make sure they're 70 by 70 pixels in size and have a one pixel black border around them. Even if you can't use Photoshop or a similar program, you can make suggestions for new avatars that other people can make. It could be a fun community effort. If we come up with a lot of these, it will bring some more variety to the avatars we see on the forums (as more people register we're getting more duplicates, which makes it harder to remember who's who). Anyone up for some Photoshopping? |

Maybe more later. I could be convinced to do requests.

You guys rock! Those look awesome!
Except I don't know who the 'other' avatar is - bottom row second from left. |

Well, there's definitely a Lego Indy game, but I wouldn't say it's an adventure. I'm assuming it'll be similar to Lego Star Wars.

Yeah, the Lego Indy is mostly wishful thinking on my part - still, we haven't seen any gameplay footage yet, so it could be adventure-esque. It would fit the license
And yeah, Peasant's Quest. The image itself comes from the movie version, because the real one is just a blob of pixels... Last edited by LuigiHann; 09-17-2007 at 01:04 PM. |

Thanks for the info. I think I ran into a thread a long time ago talking about that game but never looked into it more.

Okay, all of these were great! I've added them to the avatar selection screen. Can't wait for some of these to show up.

Nice to see them, but some FYIs here. The character you've labeled "Secret Service Guy" is Chuckles. The character you've labeled "Toy Maffia" is Cuddly Bear. Most importantly, the character you've labeled "Sherlock Holmes 1" is Watson.

Cool to see mine added. The only errors I noticed were "Saaved" instead of "Saavedro," and "Youngatrus" is supposed to be "Young Atrus." Also, the avatar selection looks a bit skewed in general, perhaps a tighter table could be made? I don't know enough about web programming, I just know it doesn't look right.
Anyway, here's a few more. These ones get a bit obscure, so I'll label them individually. From Peasant's Quest: Rather Dashing, Trogdor, and the Baby Lady From Penny Arcade Adventures: Gabriel, Tycho, and FF Prime Games available from Telltale's store: Assil from Ankh, Al Emmo from Al Emmo, and Gil Grissom from CSI Other games that Marek named: George Stobbart from BS4, Brian Basco from Runaway 2, and Rabbi Russel Stone from The Shivah Finally and improbably, items from text adventure games: No Tea from Hitchhiker's Guide, Ye Flask from the Thy Dungeonman series, and a Zorkmid from the Zork series. If it's the same thing I noticed when checking out the new avatars I think it happens when an avatar name is more than one line. This skews all the avatars below it. Don't know how easy that would be to fix though.
