(If anyone can't tell, I like these restrictions. I've been an active member of a forum that had much harder restrictions, and I was happy that way. But I'm not arguing for reduced formatting functionality or openness in this forum - I'm glad that it works without much abuse the way it is.)

Edit: Ok, 100x100 isn't that bad, but I think 80x80 is enough. The avatars main function is to give faces to the posters so that it'll be easier to keep people apart and remember who is who. They shouldn't be so large that they distract from the text or slow the forum down.

If you post one more post like that, dear Hammerite, I'm going to make sure that you will suffer death by evisceration.

You can misuse the shift key that way too, you know.

What's So Annoying About Sentences In Which The First Letter Of Every Word Is Capitalised?

Aside from it looking stupid, I mean.

They're rather hard to read.

They are hard to read, you're right. Although I'm not sure why two native German speakers are the first ones to complain, given the German-English capital letters ratio.

On a similar note, I had to read part of Ben Franklin's Autobiography in school once, with the original formatting. He followed the German capitalization rules in English (specifically the one that says "capitalize just about every noun"), and boy did it look weird.

One of the newest members of the forum seems to have adopted the "start every word with a capital" technique, too, and it really annoys me. No prizes for guessing which one.

If you want to use you SHIFT KEY more, how about using CAPITALISATION like Beneath a STEEL SKY instead? That works for me, as long as you don't get crazy with the formatting tools. ~ ~ That's something I find a bit HARD to READ too when it's done. There are times when I wish that forums didn't HAVE formatting available.

Ok, the BASS style is annoying too, after a while. (But I didn't mind it in the game.)

(1) Goes to show how evil it really is.
(2) I don't like my mothertongue anyway. So shoo.

We don't capitalise everything. It's mostly just the nouns.

Capitalising just the Nouns? That's a really random Thing to do in Sentences, isn't it?

Sure it looks odd in English, but the English language isn't free from random capitalisation, either. This post contains examples of words that wouldn't have been capitalised in Swedish. Those things, you get used to. Does that mean it's just as possible to get used to reading text in all caps? Maybe, but I don't want to try.

Oh, ganz und gar nicht. Nomen sind auch nur Namen, und so wie dein Name dich bezeichnet, so bezeichnen Nomen Dinge.
