I need some fine wine, you need to be nicer
Whoo what a name for a song. The Cardigans are going to release their new album in October. Titled Super extra gravity. I really liked their previous effort. No more easy listening like in their early days. Something much, much deeper. Communication hit me hard at the end of 2003...
But that’s not an invitation, That’s all I get, If this is communication, I disconnect... I’ve seen you, I know you, But I don’t know how to connect, So I disconnect...

That's good to hear, samIamsad. I thought the Cardigans broke up after "Gran Turismo". Does the band still have the same lineup, including the talented-but-never-smiling lead guitarist?

Man, I should look this up. I really like Gran Turismo, but it was also a bit too "softy" to become one of my favorite, and I had no idea they had made anything new since then...

They almost split up, it's true. But it's the same line-up still. Before they recorded Long gone before daylight (released in 2003) the band took a quite long time-out, in which singer Nina Persson released her solo record. Long gone.. is softer than Gran Turismo, but gets deep under one's skin. At least mine.

"Long gone before Daylight" was pretty good, I love "Communication", "A Good Horse", and "Please Sister", but I felt the the album didn't work, where Gran Turismo worked from start to finish. Another album that worked is "Emmerdale", that's great too.
The official site kept going up and down, it was hardly ever updated, and I never heard about the other albums other than one or two fan sites. No chance of the shops having any of them. |

I don't like what they've become one bit, but Life is still one of my favorite albums.

Speaking of bands you thought were gone but actually aren't, I've had the huge majority of the Go-Go's latest album stuck in my head for a month.
I was going to add an itms link, but they don't have it, so here's amazon: http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/AS...venturegame-20 Last edited by tabacco; 07-11-2005 at 07:48 AM. |
