Is it just me, or does somebody hold a grudge against alternative browsers?

Dunno, it could be photoshopped.

if you look, it says it's "Beta 1". so for the moment, i would guess so. but that's assuming the program even exists.

If it looks good, that isn't a guarantee that the program will actually work.

There's lots of weird stories going around about that particular MS program.

Yeah, it's free for the time being, although I believe they are planning to launch some kind of subscription service for it eventually. Pop along to Microsoft's download section to grab it.

Isn't it an interesting business proposition for Microsoft - having people subscribe to a service to rid their computers of spyware that shouldn't have had such an easy time getting on there in the first place?

In their defence though, I think the image at the top of this thread is faked. When I tried MS Antispyware it seemed pretty good - although it did detect a file from Microsoft's own Visio as spyware - but I'd still keep the free alternatives like Adaware around just in case!

That beta works pretty weel other than the annoying corner pop ups. They wouldn't be so bad if there was a way to click on them and make them go away, like most. But instead you just have to wait for it to leave itself.
