For Real: Which is the better special number: e or pi?
Yay! I know all of you mathematician AGers were just dying for this poll. For those of you who don't know:
e is 2.718281828459045. "e" stands for Euler's number. pi is 3.1415926535897932384626.... For a serious discussion of this topic, go here: http://www.discussanything.com/forum...p/t-70782.html  And yes, I realize this is a worthless poll. But you love it so much! Edit: DAMMIT, It's actually GOOGOl, without the plex that is 1 followed by 100 0's. No plex. And DAMMIT. Get rid of the other in option six. Bah! Last edited by Terabin; 02-24-2005 at 10:38 PM. |

I personally like e better. It's fascinating how it just happens to be limit (n->infinity) of (1 + 1/n)^n
pi is cool, too. |

What's the name of that "God's proportion number" or something, from "The DaVinci Code"? I thought that was cool!

e, no question! Anyone that says otherwise is a fool
i isn't bad either though. Not terribly elegant but at least it's imaginary. Can't say that about too many numbers Last edited by simpson_yellow; 02-25-2005 at 04:54 AM. |

I've never been able to fully grasp the imaginary & complex numbers. I probably skipped those classes.
I voted for e.
