So, I'm turning 20. Should I be worried?
Am I getting old?
People keep telling me that 20 is the age you start getting all big and old, and responsable. I can't even manage my own money, let alone be responsible about it. Or anything. I'm just worried that the time has come, and I'm just not ready. Some of you are 20, or have been. What happened? Did a clown come to your door, say "Welcome to hell, bitch." and throw a pie at your face or did the earth just explode? I've never been much for freakin' out about aging, but it's starting to creep in. Ah, hell. At least 20 beats being 19. I can legally drink...

Make like Noi--rob a bank, steal a car, escape to Hawaai, and leave that frozen pile of dirt you call home waaaay behind!!! That's what any responsible 20 year old should do! I'm about to become 21. Finally, reaching legal drinking age in the States!

No worries. I work at the customer service of a credit card company and let me tell you, there are more middle-aged people who can't manage their own money than you can shake a shish-kebab at.

Lucky you. I wish I'm 20. No... best age for me was 18! But the bright side is... it's ok for me to... well, do stuff!

Shish-kebab... *mind wanders* Anyway, anyway: I was at the bank yesterday, and the bankteller answers the phone. "Yes. -- If you have money you can buy food and pay your bills, that's all you need. -- No, in order to use your card you need to have money on your account. --" and so on...

Oh man, you're an OLD FART!
Nothing will change. I was like that waiting for my 18th birthday (it was the first time I got legally drunk ). Then, I waited for my 21st birthday, but didn't go to the States to get legally drung . I'll be 22 soon. I still act childish, I'll never learn to manage my money, and I don't really care. As long as I'm happy... BTW Watch to whom you open the door , Bastich could be paying you a visit

hmmm.... I'm actually still wondering when that magic morning will happen, when I wake up all grown-up like and mature, that I perceived "older" people being when I was a teenager. Still haven't happened, really. Do know how to manage my money, though. Well... sorta!
Happy new decade, bigj, may your twenty-something be relatively painless and keep the balls away from the light-fixtures!

bigjko, what exactly are you telling us? That you're afraid to losing your innocence? Are you're scared of teetering on the threshold of the possibly of some of the greatest moments of your life yet to come? That you're overwhelmed by the sheer volume of joy, tears, love, and vitality ahead of you?
I stopped growing up when I was a kid. Though I had my moments where I tried to conform to what those morons think of as being 'mature', I got over that and realized that maturity, true maturity, has nothing to do with owning a house, owning a car, having a family, having a mortgage. It has everything to do with understanding who you are and embracing it and sharing it with everyone, a lifelong celebration. Yes, lifelong. And it has absolutely nothing to do with age, it has everything to do with surreality, the idiosyncracy, of being just you. The only responsibility you must tend to is that of staying true to yourself. The rent may be late, the car may need fixing, but those are nothing compared to if you ever, ever, stray away from yourself. That would be disastrous. "Life is too important to be taken seriously."- Oscar Wilde

Tsk, I turn 21 in a month and I have been feeling old since I was 14. So that would make me, as someone likes to call me, 'an honorable senior member of the society' or something like that. Too bad I don't get any money for feeling old, that would be even better. So, I guess it's not your birthday date that counts, but whatever age you feel inside.

If I was you I'd be very very worried. Extremely worried even! Once you end your teenage years, it's a steep slippery slope into adult hell. I'm 32 and barely hanging on to my youth. Ah who am I kidding, it's gone all gone.
On a more carefree note, this is all I remember doing when I hit my 21st b-day and my buds all took me out to the bars near my college. |

As for me, I'm now fast approaching 40 (just not as fast as Trep ). Still can't quite believe it when I look at that number on the page. What age does it become acceptable to take Viagra?

Curt I mean, what the hell is '40' supposed to mean anyway? What the hell is '20' supposed to mean? Or '30'? Or '<insert random age here>'? Quote:
