Quick Poll #6: How you started here.
See? This one's legit. Poll is self-explanatory. So, answer the poll, and post to the thread to say how you discovered adventuregamer(s).com, when, and any other facts you want to mention.
I don't recall exactly, but I think I first found AG.com through its downloads section. I came back for the poll and the columns/features. I don't remember why I first visited the forums. I was an off-and-on visitor to the forums for awhile before taking up permanent residence.

I'd regularly visit AG, reading the reviews, articles, etc. for a while before I first registered. I first came here, of course, after hearing about Stinger's "Top 20 Adventure Games of All Time" list, and registered as soon as Indiana Jones and the Fate of Atlantis made the list, it being my favorite Adventure Game, in order to issue my approval and praise.
Glad I'm here |

A search for a crazy man!

I lurked for bloody ages before finally registering in early January. I can't remember for the life of me how I found AG originally, though.

I registred waaaaaaay before I first posted, a year-and-a-half or so. I don't know why I registred initially, but I didn't lurk for any amount of time.
I entered this forum for no reason I remember, and the old forum is dead now to search back and find out. I really don't remember, does anyone? It's been about a year since I've been around regularly, has it not? A year and then some? Perhaps my first post was a love letter to Stinger? Ah, if I only remembered! |

It was less than a day for me. I came across the site from a link in a TLJ forum where I was lurking, having just finished the game and being on a high - that was back in December 2000 (the 20th if my memory serves me well). Happened to see an interesting thread on TLJ and gave my two penneth worth (it was also the first forum that I ever posted in).
The rest, as they say, is history. Oh, and this site and the friends I've made here will always be close to my heart.

*trying to get over the initial shock over seeing Kingz using smileys*
I used to come to AG all the time, read about the games, reviews and so on, don't even remember when I started to visit the site. When the forum booted up, I lurked for a while. Think I started to post sometime in November 2000. Time flies... Thinking about it, does this poll perhaps celebrate the fact that the forum is now turning three years? Wasn't it October, or was it earlier?

Some of the thing here are made up just for clarity's sake.
I remember I had bought the Curse of Monkey Island and was searching for a solution for the final puzzle in a public computer (the first time I used the internet...) and found the Scumm bar (or was it mixnmojo?). A few years later I got an internet connection, and searched for Grim Fandango walkthru - mojo again. Anyway, I got more interested in LucasArts adventure games, and adventure games in genral. Mojo had linked to adventuregamer so I started visiting this site as well (I wanted to take part in the polls...) and when the forums were opened I was among the first ones who registered. I posted a few times, but became an active member when the site went down and the new community forum were opened.

Having recently found out that you could actually DOWNLOAD GAMES FROM THE INTERNET!!!! I instantly had to try it. I didn't want to download Quake, though, I wanted to download classic adventures! So i prowled the abandonware sites, and found AGs old download site, where I downloaded all their demos. I came back time and time again, looking for new ones, and figured that they probably announced new downloads on their front page, so I became a regular visitor for quite some time (relax, I read the news too). Then one day they told us that they were opening a Forum, and since I'd never tired one of those things before, I immediately registered. There wasn't any point in lurking since noone had posted anything yet. The rest is histrionics.
(and yes, emma, it was October... I think my join date was the 20th, but I'm not sure.......) |

I can't honestly remember how long I lurked. I discovered the forums during the long downtime AG had after they lost the adventuregamer.com domain and added the 's'. I used to look at the old site for news and reviews but never bothered about the forum. When the site went down I became a forum member.

ok..i'm really bad with remembering dates and stuff..
but i've been lurking around the forums for certainly more than a year...and i made my first post 2 days ago i remember coming across AG looking for abandonware and noticed that they needed someone to write reviews and stuff(when it was adventuregamer.com) i instantly registered and sent an application..but that is history and then i keep remembering a dream about a burning bush telling me to post at the AG forums...but i think it might have been a result of bad cheese i ate as a midnight snack... mycroft

I never really lurked on the AG forums. I've been visiting AG for many years, but when I found out that Tom (who I met at work) coincidentally worked at this site, I pretty much signed up right away (this was Spring 2002). I posted for a while, then disappeared. I re-registered almost immediately once the forums came back online.
