Sad to see you leave, and I can understand that, you know, things change and you want to move on. But I don't understand your views on the forums, and especially the "policies" that you say made it what it is.

A community always changes and evolves, but I don't think it's fundamentally different today than it was two years ago. Sure, one time Phil was the top poster, then it was Beiddie, and for a while it was Jaf, and now it's probably Remixor. Some of the faces change, some people become more (or less) involved, but this place is just the same to me as it was in the beginning. The forum is not without its problems sometimes, but... remember Sonic? Flares of conflict are nothing new on this forum and they are usually dealt with in a mature way. There's still the same spirit of friendship today, and we've got tons of little in-jokes and rituals. At least, that's how I see it.

I'm a little bothered by the fact that your post is so pervaded with negativity, without actually managing to say what it is that you don't like. If there's something you can't say in public, feel free to send me a PM, cause if there's some deeply rooted problem in the community I'd like to know about it (but I would have to be convinced, cause I can't see it). Oh, and those of you who are in agreement with Kingz's post should tell me what's wrong too. Don't hold back.

Anyway, farewell, and have fun in Utrecht. It's a great town.

Default In other news...

I think I might also leave these forums for a while (actually I don't even remember when I last posted). I might be back soon, or might not. I'll probably check in sometimes.

When the routine bites hard
and ambitions are low
And the resentment rides high
but emotions won't grow
And we're changing our ways,
taking different roads
Then love, love will tear us apart
again

Oh, and one more thing. I didn't find a poetry thread and I think this poem is fit for saying goodbye/non-goodbye to you:

All my good wishes

Days are lately barely warm
An ocean in a summer storm
Sends it's waves out in arrays
On the final summer days
Washing up the sandy shore
Wonder what they have in store?

As the golden sunny rays
Tickle all the ocean's waves
I can almost hear them sing
Whispers of the weary wind
Circling, hovering above
Wonder what they have in store?

Beg the ocean: take my pain
Swallow it or have it slain
Name my pain with all it's names
Let it drown among your waves
Answer murmurs from the sea:
What else can you offer me?

In the moment's blessed urge
I know instantly the purge
I must make to give my pain
To the ocean, to be slain
All good wishes still in me
I'll surrender to the sea

Send them riding on your tides
Make them root in distant minds
Send them flying on the wind
Songs for ears who're listening
Send them deep inside the Earth
Growing in it's gardens' mirth
May they live for years and days
Washing up with ocean waves

So that in a summer storm
When the days are barely warm
Someone listening your waves
On the summer's final days
Sitting on your sandy shore
Wonders what they have in store

Seriously though. I am sortof “leaving,” or at least gravitating towards the thumb because one can stand only so many "are adventure games dead?", "My favourite Monkey Island game is <blank>", "Sting0r sucks bollocks", "Kingzstud is so dreamy", "LEC lays off three million people", "best adventure game", "worst adventure game", "Are Myst-like non adventure games games at all?" threads and their cosuins. It looks like everyone has a doppelganger here and they're all revisiting old topics. And of course BacardiJim is toxic even in small doses, even though in another context I am quite partial to both Bacardi and BJs, if you get what I mean, nudge, nudge.

So yeah, if you ever need a dose of Kingzjester, just start one of those "Kingzstud is so dreamy" threads over at idlethumbs.net. I am more likely to see them there than here.
That is just sooo cyoot!

Not to encourage the guy too much, and not to say that I was around for very long when he was here, but I miss Kingz!

Idlethumbs, you better be taking good care of him!
