I think the media has made me an insensitive brute because I was laughing throughout the whole movie. I really liked it but if you don't like the sight of blood or limbs getting cut off, etc, then Kill Bill is definitely not for you....

I've just returned from the registry office where, for 50 quid, they allowed me to change my name officially to Bill.

So, from now on can everyone please call me Bill. (I was going to say can everyone from now on ignore Curt - but then I realized you all already do )

hehe yeah that happened in the cinema I was in. People were laughing their heads off at every oppertunity, and applauding the most sadistic of acts.

Edit: Great we have our own Bill to kill. Someone get a razor edged fryingpan...

Phil's KINDA like Bill...

Spoiler:
BTW was it just my theater or did nobody laugh whenever Uma got hurt {the shot to the head, her finding out she lost her baby}?

Why, yes! Those were the most humorous parts of the movie! You Canadians are such bloodthirsty fuckers. That Michael Moore fellow should really go to Canada and teach you how to be peaceful the American way!

Damn straight!

Hell yeah!

I think any recommendation to go see it is pointless because opinions on Tarantino are so divergent. Either you love him and have probably already seen it or you are offended by him and never will. I saw it and liked it, but it's not the best movie I've seen this year (Lost In Translation, Spellbound). I read a review though that I found interesting. It said that other talented directors (e.g. Scorcese, Altman) have had second-generation copycat directors follow them with varying degrees of artistic success whereas all the directors who have tried to copy Tarantino have been universally terrible. Of course, you could say Tarantino is second-generation Scorsese if you were really cynical.

And to answer a post earlier in the thread, RZA did some soundtrack stuff, but it's mostly the same format as the Pulp Fiction soundtrack meaning it's a Tarantino mixtape.

Hey my friend told me that they blanked out the Black Mamba's name because it was too dirty or something with the balance of F-Words in the movie. Also he said on that massive sword fight that they had to go black and white (or was it negative? I forgot) with the camera so the blood wouldn't be so offensive. This guy is known to stretch truths and I can't seem to find any sign of censorship problems with this movie on the internet... so enlighten me.

The black and white thing is correct, though. The Japanese version will feature full semi-color in those scenes.

And the bleeping of her name is just a tongue-in-cheek thing.

Semi-color?

Either way, I want all of the fun gore on DVD in nicer shades of red.

It's just a stylistic choice. We're only supposed to know her as "The Bride".

Wanna know something ironic? I started this thread, but I haven't even seen the movie yet.

Nice, Trep Well, I only just saw it myself and I enjoyed it. Honestly, I was prepared for so much violence and action that in the end I think I was hyped too much, as it didn't live up to what I was expecting in those areas. That's, of course, not the fault of the film, it's just an issue of too much build-up. On the whole I thought it was very well-done. I certainly didn't think it was anything revolutionary or particularly brilliant, but certainly fun and exciting and worth my money. I'll look forward to Volume 2.
