I noticed Düsseldorf has Ryanair going to Stanstead. Then you'll be able to find a really cheap flight.

Um, can someone answer my question please? I wanted to know if the date is set, because I want to book the tickets as soon as possible.

That's fine!

I believe my best friend, LostQuixote on here, will be attending as well.

OK for me too. I think I will reserve a hotel and hope for the best regarding my trip to England.

Sorry Jaz. Thought we'd already agreed to fix the date as 26th May 2012.

Do people need me to point them in the direction of accommodation or will you look for yourselves?

tsa. I'm not sure about coming over to the continent but I can definitely make arrangements to meet you and render assistance once you've hit the UK. Let me know what you'd need.

I'm starting to feel a little tempted, but I have to do some maths first...

I don't think we have a last date set. We'll have to know how many we have to book dinner seats for at the restaurant though. Step will surely give us a date when he's ready to make reservations.

Will post accommodation details in the next day or so. I've been canvassing opinions for recommended places rather than just pulling them out of the tourist information guide.

As Jelena says, the meal is probably going to be the key point for numbers. Everything else is pretty much flexible numbers-wise (when I last did my bespoke tour of the Old Town I had about 40 people ) Any preferences on the food front? I have a few places in mind that are relatively handy for where I'd expect us to be. There is an Italian place and an indian curry house, both of which come highly recommended. There is also a chinese nearby that, whilst not haute cuisine, operates on a more informal buffet style arrangement so you can sample lots of dishes. If people could indicate their preferences (or anything they'd rather avoid) then I can sort out the booking requirements then.

Or we could go to the World's Smallest Take-Away.

I guess this Chinese is handy because Chinese restaurants normally also don't have many problems with specific diets.

I have another question: if I come by plane, to which airport do I have to fly then? And how do I get from there to Hastings?

Ideally Gatwick, from which you can catch a train direct to Hastings. I can meet you from Gatwick or at Hastings train station as needed.

Anything but Indian would be fine.
