Well, his credit for Shadows Of the Empire was "Never Actively Tried to Sabotage the Project" and he was credited as Tim Schafer (The Raccoon King). His credit for FOA was that he "offered Scumm advice." I'm not sure either of those really count.

Yeah, I just saw that. Okay, that's my bad then. So instead let me change that to "Day of the Tentacle is stupid!"

Full 3D graphics? To me that's a major CON.

Even today real-time rendered 3D environments look like crap compared to pre-rendered 3D. Back in the day when GK3 was released it looked even more like poop. Bad lighting, shadows and butt-ugly low-res textures.

No sir, give me GF's pre-rendered backgrounds ANY DAY!

PS: And DOTT is one of the most innovative games when it comes to puzzles. The three time periods and how you can change things in the past or future is pure genius!

Aww, c'mon! Grim Fandango is about the afterlife. Only a god would have such insight.

Jensen writes about a guy with a magic medal.

I'm sure Manny will appreciate your saying that if he ever finishes turning around.

I, on the other hand, would like to see adventure games come join the rest of us here in the 21st century with 3D graphics.

I honestly don't understand what people love so much about DOTT. Yeah, it had really good puzzle design. And that's about it. Now if you could put that into a decent story I'd be right there. But Day of the Tentacle was just so dull. As it is it might as well be a puzzle game. And its attempts at humor were just pathetic. It's a decent adventure game, but it is by no means the best adventure game ever.

Hey, I've never seen Schafer reveal the secret of the Holy Grail. How can he be a god if he doesn't even know about the Holy Grail? I say you serve a false god.

Not until technology will allow more detailed enviroments.

You know what's dull? The performances of most of GK2's 'actors'

Maybe you just don't have a sense of humour.

That's actually something I agree with. Grim Fandango is the best adventure ever!

This is a who-do-you-love-more-your-mummy-or-your-daddy type of question. Unfair. Obscene. I'll have to flip a coin. Honestly.

Heads. Jane.

Right. Because this really lacks detail. Sorry, but I think you're a little behind the times.

Yeah, and the actor who did the voice of Hoagie is the next Sean Connery, right?

mag's Law of Comebacks: All insults of the form "You are X" can and should be responded to with "Your face is X!"

That at least I can see an argument for. Even though it's really second best.

Mag, come closer so that I may yell at you in my booming baritone, then strangle you while laughing maniacally.

That's INDEED not detailed compared how much you can put into hand-drawn backgrounds. The texturing makes the room busier than it really is.

No, but he does a far better job than most of GK2's actors.

What about the Al Lowists, Sokalists, Roberta Williamsnists, Steve Meretzkyiers, etc, etc?

Voted for Jensen, she's a Godess in my household, and I never got around to play Grim Fandango even once, compared to the number of times I've delved into the Schattenjäger domain... *ducks*

*still cracking up from reading the debate* And people found reasons to make fun of the borg-death star discuss! This is BY FAR the funniest poll ever made, that ever had a remote adventure games theme to it! Cudos!
