Default Music that's killing me

So here's the deal, I posted about this one song in another forum, but nobody actually knew how to answer me. It's been killing me, for actually a few years now. I can't remember its damn title. The music had a trimmed video clip, about 7 minutes long (I can't be sure), of the original album version which was over, I think, 20 minutes long. It had a very calm, almost dreamy rythm, to it. I can't even tell you about the lyrics or what instruments it had, because I simply cannot remember.

I do remember though, the clip had tall city buildings. When I saw Tatu's Gomenasai clip I was actually fooled for a minute into thinking it might be the one I'd been looking for me. Imagine that kind of setting without the cheesy anime. It was a city at night, skyscrapers, I think, and not much was actually going on.

I know this is vague as hell but if anyone can think of anything, drop me a line, it's killing me!

What kind of music was it? A genre would help a lot.

I know the feeling, I've had the same problem many times.

Well I didn't want to risk a type, because as I said I only remember little things from it, like the timespan and bits of the clip that are more of a blur than anything. Like I said, pretty calm song, think Stairway to Heaven without the beautiful uptempo solo in the end and even longer.

Could've been Diamond Sea, by Sonic Youth:

the album version was around 20 minutes
the single version was 5 and a half minutes
and another version is around 26 minutes

Nah, this song is from the 2000s, prior to 2005, I'm definitely sure. It was probably not very famous, but damn it, I liked it then and simply forgot

You don't remember anything besides scyscrapers? That sure is a hard riddle to solve.

Tell me about it. Well, they weren't real skyscrapers, they were CGI, I believe.

Huski - Undertow
iio - Rapture

CGI skyscrapers, and I get to pimp two songs I like, also both bizarrely involving a hundred foot projection of a beautiful singer.

This happens to me a lot. I wish there was a site where you can post song describtions and you'd get the answer.

Could be My Bloody Valentine or a similiar band?

Hmmm, I don't think so. Here's what I remember: TV clip was either normal timed or up to 7 minutes or so time. The original song, which I got a few days after I saw it on tv was actually around 20 minutes long, I don't remember if it was longer or shorter. It had skyscrapers, CGI, I believe. It was very very calm, if you think the songs AJ posted are calm, think way calmer. I can't remember the instruments, I'm afraid. I know it was a song released somewhere along this decade, but prior to 2005.

It's really been quite some time but I've been trying to get that song back all this time :|

The only music video I have seen with skyscrapers (at least as I can remember for the moment) is to a techno song (if I remember correctly), with volumepiles and soundwaves pumping on the buildings. I guess it's not the one you're searching for and I don't even remember its' name.

Here's another one that's not it, but contains CGI buildings at night, nothing happens, and is downtempo:
Zero 7 - Home

What's going on in the video? What's the genre of the music?

I think I know the one you mean. And I also can't think of the name (searched youtube for Boards of Canada, The Orb, Prodigy). Lot's of morphing, and the further it went, the more surreal it got. Yes? Maybe some sort of electronica (not necessarilly 'techno').

Going on those lines, perhaps it was something like Autechre or Aphex Twin.

No, not Aphex Twin. It's like you say, I think, but again, I'm not sure, it's been a while and my memory has never been great. It does remind me of that one clip by Zero 7, but I remember clearly it was a man singing, the videoclip was longer and from what little I can remember the camera lingered on top of said skyscrapers. I can't even be sure they were skyscrapers, let's rephrase. Think tall buildings

God I hate when this happens , and google has never helped much either.
