Well, that's the simplified version (and one of the reasons (of many, I'm sure))... The human mind is a complex thing.

*sigh* Poor teens. I wouldn't judge them, and I wish other people's judgment wouldn't mean so much to them.

Anti-biotics are not much fun. Get well soon Marte! And remember to finish the treatment even when you feel better.

I'm sick too, with a bad cold. No antibiotics for me though, luckily. ^^

Get well soon, Marte!

Dear blog,

After an intense few weeks, things seem to have taken a turn for the better. As you may remember from my previous ramblings, I have a job of 2 days per week as a research assistant. Of course, 2 days per weeks is not much, so I have been looking for something else to fill up the remaining 3 days. At the institute where I work now, there was a vacancy for a research assistant position for 3 days per week, that fits quite well with the work I'm doing now, so I thought to give it a try.

I had the interview yesterday, and although I thought I screwed it up a bit, apparently they thought I was good enough anyway, so I got the job! So now I have 2 jobs One involving collecting data, and one involving analysis of MRI scans.
I'm still looking for a PhD job, but at least now I've got job certainty until next year instead of coming February

Brilliant Luna! The combination of those two jobs is almost a Ph.D. position in itself. Maybe you can spin it that way?

Thanks Jelena and tsa

Actually I do have some plans of spinning myself into a Ph.D. position based on my first job, but as of yet I have no real idea yet how I'm going to do that (that is, what exactly I'm going to research). But indeed, combining those job into a Ph.D. position may also work.

You can basically summerize that as I'm thinking about how to secure a job for 4 more years as I go along

Congratulations, Luna. Good luck with the new jobs

In other news, I just completed work on the mammoth outline for my four volume story. there will probably have to be some serious tweaks, but I've got enough sorted out that I can finally get back to writing the actual novel(s).

The problem is, we're sinking so far into debt that I now have to abandon plans to write the novel and get a day job again. I also have to do some radical surgery to my website because it's currently glitched itself out of existence, and I can't apply for graphics gigs without an online portfolio, it seems.

So while I'll be having a mini-celebration tonight with steak and Guinness, I fear tomorrow is going to be back to the grind of learning to be a web designer and hoping I can find a way to get more clientele without going door to door with my portfolio, before I have to start working for another tyrannical print shop owner.

Okay, enough from me. I think most folks skip my posts here these days anyway. Just thought I'd give a heads up. Ta.

Hey all. I'm doing pretty good, besides stressing with midterms. The thing I wanted to throw out there is what kind of 180 degree turn Louie has been doing. Let's just say he's saying hypothetical situations what he might do, that seem completely out of character for him. He's talking about maybe joining the army, getting a tattoo, and trying to be abstinent for awhile. Let's just say...these aren't like the Louie I know and love. I said I would support him in whatever decisions he makes, but it just threw me for a loop and worried me just a little.

On the upside, there's a very good chance Louie and I will move into a house with 7 other people, who are really friendly. They also have 4 dogs and a cat, and I've really missed having pets! I don't want to get my hopes up too high, and I'm a bit scared of trying the unknown, but I'm excited!
