Which one will win? Probably IE, with its huge userbase and the backing of Microsoft.

Which one should win? Firefox.

I'm going to sit up here on the hill with Opera, sipping tea and watching the carnage.

I agree with Mistah Lacey's assessment, however.

Opera... fastest, most secure, least resource intensive, best css compliance this side of a mac(safari).

To be fair, being a programmer, and working a lot with javascript on both firefox and IE, IE is much more generous in its javascript syntax. But that makes it a beast to port because it doesn't stick to the standards. It makes it easier for the user to write javascript, but it introduces a porting nightmare, especially when you are writing some funky scripts.
Firefox on the other hand sticks to the standards to a fault, so it seems a little more difficult to program for.

I should add that I voted for IE, but only because I took the question literally .

If IE had tabs I would of gone with that. But Firefox rules at tabs. Did I mention Robsie, that your profile is on my tabs.

The winner is of course the black horse of the race, Opera from Norway, the country of Ragnar Tornquist.

More importantly, IE7 will actually support alpha channels in PNG images. That, in my view, has been the most soul-crushingly awful lack in IE6 to date.

Beware, though... it's reported as somewhat unstable still.

People have been able to have tabs in IE since 1997, and Opera implemented them in 1996 while adopting them as standard in 2000, before Firefox had them in 2001.
