HOOK 'EM HORNS!!!!!!! Texas Longhorns win the National Championship!!!!!
Unbelievable. Just absolutely unbelievable. One of the greatest games I've ever seen. USC was thought to be unbeatable. They had won 34 straight football games guys. THIRTY FOUR. That's insane. Texas was on their heels with 19 in a row (now 20). Such a beautiful thing to see all those Californians crying. Heh, just kidding. Anyway, Vince Young was absolutely unbelievable. Sorry, maybe I'll say more later. I just can't believe this. No one thought Texas could win on a NEUTRAL field, much less in Pasadena. What a great day. 41-38 FINAL SCORE.

I have to admit, in the 4th quarter I was thinking it wasn't such a great battle at first... When there were 6 minutes left in the game and USC went up 38-26, I thought it was over. That was a brilliant stop by the Texas defense on 4th down to get the ball back to Vince Young with 2:09 left to play. I knew it was over at that point. I knew Texas wouldn't let it slip away when they were that close.

Yeah Austin is a wonderful city, but I'm partial to Dallas. Houston sucks though, ugh. I was born there, but I still think it sucks. It's too humid and it just looks...unimpressive. San Antonio isn't too great either.
Anyway, time for some Rose Bowl pics: Cry me a river Reggie Bush. You got owned. Go surfing with some of your SoCal buddies... What winners look like. Vince, you were amazing... Born in Houston too, like me. The futile attempt of a Californian trying to chase down a Texan... Nice tackle loser! Better luck next time... Ok, ok...all in good fun, I promise. By the way, if anyone cares (and judging by the pitiful performance of this thread no one does), Vince Young and Selvin Young will be on The Tonight Show with Jay Leno tonight. Some people think Vince Young's performance last night was the greatest big game clutch performance in college football history. 467 yards (267 passing, 200 rushing). Rushing into the end zone for the game winning touchdown with 19 seconds left, on a 4th and 5, no less. Hope the Leno crowd doesn't hate him, he'll be in CA...we'll see I guess...
EDIT: It was a good show. Will Farrell was also a guest, and he was hilarious. He was acting like he was crying and stuff...big USC fan. Heh. Last edited by Once A Villain; 01-05-2006 at 10:30 PM. |
